Welcome! I am ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS... Most of my clients express feeling heard & hopeful after our first session. I believe a strong client-therapist connection is crucial in therapy. Finding the right therapist can be challenging and my goal is to make that process as comfortable as possible. It is natural to feel overwhelmed by life at times. Together we will create a personalized treatment plan with a focus on the whole person (mind and body), as every person & experience is unique. I utilize a strengths-based approach to help people identify what they are already doing well, and help them see & build on that potential. Small changes can make a big impact. I have specialized training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TFCBT) & Mindfulness-based stress reduction. Speciality areas include: relationship/family concerns, college/graduate student-related concerns, young adults, trauma history, anxiety, stress management, self care, pregnancy/pre/post-natal support & adjustment to life transitions. I am an independently licensed therapist and obtained my Master of Social Work from Loyola University Chicago in 2008. I enjoy spending time with my children and family outdoors, playing sports, yoga, and traveling. I look forward to getting to know you, and am available to answer any questions you might have!

*CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS* It takes strength to ask for help. Each person lives a life full of unique circumstances and challenges. I believe in partnering with my clients to help them develop their potential and find the path that is right for them. My goal is to empower clients to live their best lives. I enjoy seeing the pride my clients have when they've succeeded in reaching their goals. These goals are often hidden in everyday stressors and the challenges we face, and by exploring challenges in a safe environment, I support my clients in unlocking their goals and fulfilling them. Each person, while having unique psychology and brain chemistry, is an active participant in their environment, whether that be a school, work setting, family, or relationship. We are all influenced by others, and we all have the potential to change our lives. With this in mind, depending on individual needs, I help clients to advocate for positive change. Traditional office hours are often inconvenient. That's why I offer appointments between 8 am and 8 pm on weekdays. Please call or email, and I'll work with you to find the best time for your first appointment.

Ready to unf#ck your nervous system? Let’s be completely real, you can’t think your way out of a survival response. If analyzing your childhood or making endless coping-skill lists worked, you wouldn't be reading this right now. Numbing out, doom-scrolling, or pushing through the exhaustion makes complete sense, until it doesn't.I don't do standard talk therapy. I don't sit silently while you vent for 50 minutes just to tell you to breathe. At The Unfiltered Couch Counseling, we go straight to the root, in your body. When you are stuck in constant survival mode, chronic illness flares up, burnout takes over, and your brain feels constantly foggy. Using specialized somatic approaches like Brainspotting, EMDR, and Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR), we target where stress and trauma are physically trapped in your nervous system. We clear out the heavy, physical weight in your chest and stomach so your body finally gets the memo that the danger is over.If you are ready for raw honesty, deep somatic shifts, and a therapist who actually curses back, you’re in the right place. Let's get your system back online.

I offer my clients a calm and safe place to work through issues that are holding them back from living their best lives. The issues I most often help clients with are anxiety, trauma, adjustment issues, ADHD, and depression. I offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and Neurofeedback Therapy. I have found EMDR to be an amazing tool that has been so helpful in allowing my clients to work through traumatic events which then leads to less anxiety, less depression, higher productivity, and better sleep. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to see if we would be a good fit. I look forward to talking with you.
