Are you anxious, depressed, overwhelmed, or emotionally exhausted by the state of the world? Let's make it feel easier together. With over 10+ years experience, I specialize in supporting adults with ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Panic, and Sex-related concerns through collaborative, compassionate, and results-driven therapy and coaching. I focus on restoring a sense of safety, clarity, and agency in an increasingly overwhelming world using evidence-based practices and customizing sessions to tailor to your specific needs. Let's work together to curate the change you want for yourself and your future, one simple step at a time. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, chronically stressed, or stuck in cycles of overthinking, masking, or emotional exhaustion. I work collaboratively with my clients to set goals, process emotions, and untangle the grief of living through the world as it currently is. As a Pakistani-American daughter of immigrants, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work. I understand how cultural expectations, intergenerational dynamics, and systemic stress can affect us. If you are ready to stop simply surviving and start feeling steady and hopeful, let's start building a better reality for you, together.

I am a Licensed Master Social Worker, LMSW and Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, CAADC with over 15 years of experience. I have specialized knowledge in trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance use. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Internal family Systems, (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidenced based intervention for working with individuals who have experienced trauma or disturbing events in their lives that keep them stuck. EMDR quickly moves an individual through disturbing events and negative self-beliefs, to positive self-beliefs, eliminating emotional distress. I believe improved quality of life, emotional, physical, and social, can be achieved by building upon your strengths and providing you a safe, supportive, nonjudgement environment, while respecting your hopes, dreams, and desires. I am passionate about helping individuals, couples, families and the LGBTQ+ community obtain the quality of life they deserve through their healing process. If you do not have the quality of life you deserve, there is hope. It would an honor to assist you with achieving the happy, healthy, and purpose driven life, with quality relationships, that you so deserve.

Cultures are tricky even when we live in the same country. Do you feel it's difficult to be fully understood? Do you feel 'conflict with others' happen often? Sometimes, we feel lonely, lost, and discouraged when going through life transitions, good or bad. Transition could be a break-up, a loss of a loved one, a new cultural/sexual identity, starting in a new school or new semester. You don’t have to go through those transitions alone. Therapy is a safe space for you to explore the complex emotions that come with those changes. I take an integrative approach in helping you realize your own potential to achieve wellness. Knowing Cantonese and Mandarin allows me to understand my client's perspective from their own native language.

I understand that at times, being human is hard. It is natural to have psychological and physical reactions to life events, such as changes, challenges, as well as traumatic experiences. As your therapist, I will help support you by simply being a listening ear and validating your experience. In addition, I can provide you with the opportunity to learn skills for behavioral change and symptom management. I believe that transformation and growth occurs through collaboration of appropriate interventions and a developed sense of self-awareness. My approach to therapy is eclectic and attachment-based. This means that we will build a therapeutic relationship that is based on a foundation of safety, trust, and support. Together, we will tailor your treatment according to your needs. The space I offer is a judgment-free zone, a comfortable place for you to be yourself. I would be honored to hear your story and provide you with the care you need and deserve. I look forward to embarking on this journey of healing with you.

I'm committed to helping people in building (or rebuilding) a life worth living, however they define it. Whether you're looking for a way forward after a loss, struggling to adjust to a new situation, or just feeling overwhelmed, you don't have to face it alone. With a therapeutic approach informed by Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, I tailor interventions to suit each person's unique needs and goals. I believe in the importance of not just having the words to describe our emotions and the skills to manage them, but in understanding where our emotions are coming from in the first place. I'm especially passionate about supporting students and young professionals as they navigate the ups and downs of emerging adulthood. Therapy is most effective when it's with a provider you connect with. Schedule a consultation to see if I'd be the right therapist for you.

Asking for help can feel like failure. But it’s actually the smartest thing you can do. You’re at a rigorous university. You’re surrounded by smart, accomplished people. Everyone seems to have it together: classes, social life, and future plans despite all the pressure. Except you’re in your room at 2 AM and your anxiety is spiraling. Or you’re making a decision that feels impossibly huge and you have no idea which way to turn. Or you’re just… exhausted. The problem isn’t that you’re not capable. The problem is you’re trying to figure out who you actually are while everyone expects you to have it all figured out. That’s where I come in. I’m Debbie Miller, a therapist who gets college students. I spent 25 years in Ann Arbor and worked extensively with University of Michigan students. I know the academic pressure, the social dynamics, the Greek life culture, the competitive environment. I still work with Michigan students via telehealth, and I genuinely understand what it’s like to be where you are. I work with students who feel overwhelmed by pressure, confused about their future, struggling with anxiety or depression, or navigating major transitions. Students who know something needs to shift but aren’t sure how. Here’s the approach: We work together to help you become an expert on yourself. We’re a team. My job isn’t to tell you what to do, it’s to ask the right questions so you hear your own voice clearly. To challenge you on beliefs that hold you back. To help you figure out what actually matters to you (not what you think should matter). This isn’t always comfortable, but discomfort is usually a sign that real growth is happening. Your pace, your direction. That’s the deal. Ready to talk? Call or email me to schedule your free consultation.

College can be one of the most exciting and challenging times in your life. Between adjusting to new responsibilities, balancing academics, friendships, and possibly work, it’s normal to feel stressed, overwhelmed, or uncertain about the future. You don’t have to go through it alone. My counseling practice is here to support you through whatever you may be facing—whether it’s stress, anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, identity exploration, or simply navigating the ups and downs of college life. Together, we’ll create a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly, gain new tools, and build resilience to help you succeed both academically and personally. Reaching out for support is a sign of strength, not weakness. My goal is to help you feel understood, supported, and empowered to grow into the best version of yourself during your college journey.

I have extensive experience working with people who have experienced loss in their life. I have worked many years in the hospice setting and it would be my honor to help you find hope and meaning. I enjoy working with adults struggling through a life transition, college stress, medical issue, professional burnout, caregiver burnout, trauma, anxiety/perinatal anxiety, or grief. My clients desire to connect to an internal sense of sturdiness that allows them to live more empowered, hopeful and meaningful lives. I have a clinical specialty working with people who are struggling to find connection in their relationships and are at a crossroad in their life (divorce, grief & loss, new parents, affair recovery, professional burnout). I would be honored to help you make sense of your life and rebuild again. I strive to provide a compassionate, gentle, safe, and trustworthy environment that fosters a strong, therapeutic relationship. I operate from a holistic therapy approach that is person-centered and draws on the strengths of my clients. My approach integrates a variety of theories to help clients gain a better understanding of themselves and their emotions. I am dedicated to creating a non-judgmental and empathic space where my clients feel seen and heard. I value and honor the unique story of each client, as well as the vulnerability it takes to reach out for support. Together, we will hold curiosity about your struggles and begin a journey of growth and healing.
