Feel like you can't control worry? Or that you lose yourself in relationships? Perhaps you feel disconnected and loney? It doesn't have to stay that way, and you don't have to go it alone. Ready to get to the root of your struggles and experience lasting change? I specialize in working with young adults and college students who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, or relationship issues...or all of the above. I strive to be a solid support system for my clients and care about you immensely. And I go beyond just talk therapy with EMDR, the gold-standard treatment for trauma and anxiety.
I help students and young adults navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, academic stress, relationship struggles, and figuring out who you are in the middle of all the transitions life throws at you. My approach is collaborative and holistic—we look at both your mental and physical health, using tools like cognitive reframing and psychotherapy to find what actually works for you. I believe there’s no one right answer for anyone, so we work together to figure out solutions that fit your life and goals. My goal is to make every session a space where you feel heard, supported, and safe to be yourself. Think of me as a partner in helping you handle the stress, find balance, and build the skills to thrive on campus and beyond.

I am particularly interested in, and trained for, working with clients who are struggling with or are in recovery from eating disorders. I have extensive experience working with adults (18 and older) who have co-occurring diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, and trauma. I also find fulfillment in supporting people who are navigating life transitions: tackling the college experience, embarking on a new career, becoming a parent, empty-nesting, or encountering a less-expected transition such as grief or a relationship ending. It is common for people who have had an eating disorder or who are currently struggling with one, to find that transitions challenge their recovery process with increased stress. Counseling may be especially helpful during that time. The most important component of effective therapy is providing a therapeutic relationship built on warmth, empathy, genuineness, unconditional regard and trust. Using a “Health at Every Size” (HAES®) philosophy I draw from several different therapeutic techniques to tailor my approach to your unique needs. My primary goal is to help you understand how your presenting concerns developed and what is perpetuating them. I then support you in accepting or making changes that align with your values and goals. I offer a free initial phone call during which time you and I can explore together if I'm a good fit to help you reach your goals. I'm happy to answer any questions you have about therapy and help you feel ready to begin this process. You're welcome to send me an email with any questions you may have!
Therapy for the deep feelers, the over thinkers, and the maskers. Perhaps you find yourself constantly people pleasing to prevent angering or disappointing others. Perhaps you feel terrified to make a decision and feel paralyzed about making a mistake. Perhaps you've just always felt emotions deeply and tend to keep it to yourself. It's time to get support of your own! I specialize in helping anxious and highly sensitive women feel like themselves again by finding clarity, connecting to their body, and untangling negative core beliefs that keep them stuck. I use EMDR and IFS as primary therapies. I am a board certified licensed therapist in Texas and Massachusetts. I offer telehealth appointments, or in-person appointments at my Austin, TX office location. Reach out to schedule a free consultation if you are interested in starting therapy!
I work with people navigating change, whether that’s figuring out adulthood, starting a family, or finding your footing in a new season of life. I also support neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, autism, or other forms of neurodiversity, who are learning how to honor their unique ways of thinking, feeling, and being in the world. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, supported, and confident as you move through whatever’s next. Clients describe me as warm, approachable, and easy to talk to. Our sessions are a space to slow down, reflect, and explore what really matters to you. We’ll work together to make sense of what’s been feeling heavy and uncover new ways to move forward. You can expect a comfortable, judgment-free space to talk about what’s been on your mind. We’ll focus on what’s most important to you, and my hope is that you leave feeling heard, understood, and a little more at ease about where you’re headed.

You’re the strong one — the responsible one — the one who learned early how to hold it together. You navigate different spaces, code-switching when needed, carrying family expectations while trying to build relationships that feel healthy and secure. You’re self-aware, but old attachment patterns still show up. You’re ready to understand what shaped you and create connection that feels safe, mutual, and authentic. I provide trauma-informed, attachment-focused therapy for Black and Brown Millennials and Gen Z adults and couples. Using EMDR and relational therapy, we process generational and relational wounds so you can shift patterns at their root — not just manage the symptoms. You don’t have to keep carrying everything alone. Many of your patterns were learned for survival — they make sense. Therapy offers space to unlearn what no longer serves you and build something healthier. If you’re ready for intentional, culturally responsive depth work, I invite you to reach out.
In a few weeks, you could be unstuck from what’s holding you back. Let’s get started. If you’ve never been in therapy, I’ll make this easy. If you're coming back, I’ll honor what you already know. We’ll get to know each other and understand what you'd like to change. During our sessions, you will always be the expert in how your life works, and I’ll share with you a research-based approach to creating mental health. We'll work toward goals as a team, in a process that fits your unique background (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexual orientation identity, religious affiliation); respecting your values is important to me. I use treatments that we know work. These therapies not only help you overcome problems you’re experiencing right now, but I’ll teach you skills to resolve future problem that might come your way, too. While handling emotions in a new way might feel strange, I’ll be there to walk you through the process. I completed a Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Utah, and fellowship in trauma psychology at the South Texas VA. I live in San Antonio, Texas, where I am a professor at the University of Texas School of Medicine. In my free time, I love fitness and exploring small Texas towns. Hi, I’m Tabitha Cantu, MSW, LCSW, and I provide virtual therapy to women in university as I understand the challenges college can bring. Many of the women I work with are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, boundaries, life transitions, relationship challenges, family conflict, self-esteem concerns, and the pressures of school, work, and everyday life. As a Hispanic woman who has lived and worked in different states across the U.S., I’ve had the privilege of connecting with people from diverse backgrounds and communities. These experiences have broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of the unique culture, communities, and challenges individuals face, and shaped the compassionate, culturally responsive approach I bring to therapy. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered. My approach is collaborative and strengths-based, integrating evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies to help clients build coping skills, improve emotional well-being, and create meaningful change. Whether you’re adjusting to college life, managing academic stress, working through relationship concerns, or seeking greater confidence and balance, therapy can provide a space to explore challenges and develop practical tools for growth. I currently offer virtual therapy sessions throughout Texas, New Mexico, and Florida.
Hi, I’m Kristian Salazar, LCSW. I work with adults and adolescents navigating depression, anxiety, and thoughts of self-harm. I aim to create a modern, affirming, and grounded therapeutic space. My approach combines Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, and a trauma-informed lens. I also use a dialectical perspective, helping clients accept their current emotions while working toward meaningful change. Together, we build skills that support emotional regulation, resilience, and personal growth. I also provide a safe space for individuals that are in the LGBTQIA+ community.

Feeling swamped with everything on your plate? Between academics, deadlines, relationships, home life, part-time work, studying, and making tough choices, the list feels endless. Sometimes that sense of overwhelm can push you to try harder, or it can make you want to stay in bed all day. Skipping classes, avoiding people, not wanting to bother anyone—these can be signs it’s time to ask for help. I’m here for you, even if you’re unsure, and I hope to offer some guidance and support.
If you’ve been feeling like you’ve kind of lost yourself lately, you’re not alone—and you’re exactly who I love working with. A lot of the people I see are juggling school, expectations, relationships, and big life decisions, while quietly feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of who they really are. You might overthink everything, struggle to say no, or feel pressure to have it all figured out—even when you don’t. In our work together, you won’t get a stiff or overly clinical experience. I show up as a real person—warm, down-to-earth, and sometimes bringing in humor when it helps take the edge off. I’ll help you slow things down, make sense of what you’re feeling, and start trusting yourself more so you can feel grounded, confident, and more like you again.
