Therapists for college students near 77005
I currently have immediate openings for teletherapy and I also offer walk-and-talk sessions at the San Jose Rose Garden. I am licensed in both California and Texas. I have more than ten years of experience working with adolescents and young adults. I most frequently help my college-aged clients navigate the challenges of anxiety, depression, ADHD, executive dysfunction, giftedness, self-esteem and body image issues, relationships, grief, disordered eating, and trauma. I specialize in, and especially enjoy working with, ADHD, gifted persons, and college-aged young adults. As a private practice clinician since 2012, I take an affective, strengths based, approach to therapy. I practice cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems therapy, trauma-informed care, dialectical behavioral therapy, and mindfulness. I work with individuals and families, and I facilitate an LGBTQ+ inclusive group for college-aged young women and non-binary persons. My style of therapy is centered, relaxed, and collaborative. It is vital to my practice that clients know they are talking to a real human being, and my client-therapist relationships are built on mutual trust and safety. I believe that mental healthcare should be holistic. To get at the whole person, I like to explore the interplay between movement, nutrition, sleep, and time spent in nature. And because mental health impacts so much of our lives, I often advocate for my clients and help coordinate support with other academic and healthcare professionals. I strongly believe that mental healthcare should be accessible and easy to navigate for everyone. I welcome clients from all communities, backgrounds, and walks of life. Outside of my home office, I am an avid hiker and eater of takeout. I’m learning to surf, and my favorite part of every day is spending time with my sixteen-year-old wiener dog.
I believe growth is deeply personal—and that positive expectations, paired with support and willingness, are powerful tools for transformation. If you're looking for a safe, judgment-free space, you’re in the right place. I'm here to support, motivate, and provide compassionate guidance as you engage in the process of self-discovery.
College brings a lot of change — newfound independence, heavy course loads, and big life decisions that come with new relationships. My desire is to provide a warm, down-to-earth space where college students can talk through the challenges of becoming more independent, manage academic stress, and figure out next steps after committing to a partner. Together we’ll build practical skills, set realistic goals, and find choices that feel true to you. If you need support navigating this stage, I’m here to help.
I offer both medication management and counseling. Problems that I treat include depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, ADHD, and sleep issues. Please note that I do not prescribe controlled substances for ADHD nor anxiety.

Healing begins in a space where you feel heard, respected, and accepted just as you are. As a bilingual (English and Spanish) therapist, I support adults who have experienced hurtful or unhealthy relationships, including emotional or physical abuse, and are navigating the impact these experiences can have on their lives. I understand that culture, family, and personal experiences shape how we view ourselves and our relationships, and I strive to provide care that honors your unique story and values. My goal is to help you reconnect with your strengths, create healthier relationships, and move toward the life you want. My approach is warm, supportive, and empowering, with a focus on helping you recognize your strengths and create meaningful change. I work collaboratively with clients to better understand their experiences, heal from past hurts, and develop tools for building confidence, setting boundaries, and creating healthier patterns in their relationships. Therapy is a process we navigate together, at a pace that feels comfortable and meaningful for you. You don't have to have it all together to start therapy. I'd be honored to support you along your path towards healing!
Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker who practiced in a college counseling setting for over 4 years and I have 15 years of counseling experience total. I continue to work with college students in my private practice and I enjoy working with people to better manage anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, OCD, grief, life transitions, relationship, concerns, and general stress. My practice is body positive and LGBTQ+, immigrant, and international student supportive and affirming. I aim to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for processing fears, thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. I use various types of therapy, including ACT, CBT, DBT skills, somatic therapy, schema therapy, ERPT, narrative therapy, and person centered therapy, but I tailor sessions to what works best for you. I also welcome your feedback in the process. I strongly encourage coming to therapy in the way that you are most comfortable - meaning, swear if you feel the need, don't apologize for eating in sessions if you are hungry, show up in your pajamas - whatever. As long as you are safe and comfortable and you are able to talk privately, I support it. I offer a free 15 minute consultation call to see if we are a good fit, because having a therapist you trust and match with is paramount. I offer virtual telehealth sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. I offer in person sessions in Kingwood, Texas on Wednesdays. Please feel free to reach out to me if you'd like to connect and I wish you the best in your therapist search!
Most of the clients I work best with have one thing in common: they feel overwhelmed by the pressure to “have it all together,” especially around food, body image, and big life transitions. Many of them are students who look fine on the outside but are quietly struggling with anxiety, burnout, or feeling disconnected from their bodies. I often work with people who: Feel guilty or stressed about eating and don’t know how to break the cycle Overthink food choices or feel “out of control” around food Are adjusting to a big life change (moving away from home, starting college, pregnancy/postpartum, major stress) Carry a lot of self-criticism and feel exhausted from trying to meet everyone’s expectations Want a space where they can be honest without feeling judged or misunderstood My clients tend to be caring, hard-working, sensitive, and often the “strong one” in their friend group. They’re usually trying to balance school, relationships, and their own mental health—often without giving themselves the same compassion they give others. If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place. My goal is to make therapy feel like a safe, steady place where you can slow down, understand what’s going on underneath the stress, and feel more connected to yourself again.
