Our diverse team of therapists provides compassionate, evidence-informed care grounded in relational, psychodynamic, attachment-based, and holistic approaches. We work with college students, young adults, professionals, and individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, and academic or career stress. We understand that seeking support can feel vulnerable, especially during times of change. Whether you're adjusting to campus life, managing family expectations, coping with burnout, exploring aspects of your identity, or working through past experiences that continue to affect your present, our therapists strive to create a space where you feel understood, respected, and empowered. Our practice values authenticity, cultural humility, and inclusivity. We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, first-generation students, immigrants, and those navigating complex family, cultural, or societal dynamics. We offer both in-person sessions in Midtown Manhattan near Grand Central and telehealth appointments throughout New York. We are in-network with Aetna and Cigna and offer a generous honor-system sliding scale for students and those with other insurance plans. We also provide complimentary consultation calls to help students find the therapist who feels like the right fit. Our goal is not simply symptom reduction, but helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, strengthen your relationships, and build a life that feels more connected, fulfilling, and aligned with your values.
My main approaches are derived from person centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused, and schema therapy. I hope for all my clients to leave sessions gaining more understanding of who they are, questions and tools to help them go deeper and confidence to work towards change. In sessions I provide a warm and safe space for you to freely express yourself. Together we will work collaboratively to address the anxiety, depression and other symptoms hindering you in life. Working together to understand the root of these issues and challenge the thinking patterns and behaviors that repeats themselves, keeping you in a negative loop. The tools that I will provide will help you gain more insight and understanding of yourself and work towards meaningful change and growth. I also specialize in mental health with Christian spirituality. I can also teach you how to implement biblical principles into improving your mental health.
I'm so glad you've started this journey to improve your mental wellbeing. I know how difficult beginnings can be—I’ve worked with a number of first-time and returning therapy clients from backgrounds as diverse as New York City itself. I particularly enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ clients and people with disabilities and neurodivergences. I do my best to honor your cultural experience as we tackle some of life’s biggest challenges together: depression and anxiety, trauma and grief, chronic illness and medical issues, relationship difficulties and life transitions, and problematic drug use or other behaviors that may no longer be serving you. My own career began in worker organizing, then moved into community social work and social policy research. I have a deep appreciation for how relationships and social realities impact mental health and prioritize a relational and social change-oriented approach. Disability justice, racial justice, and gender justice are core tenets of my practice. My work is also influenced by my own experiences as a therapy client: I strive to be as transparent as possible about what we’re doing and why, so you can be a full partner on the journey and never feel left in the dark. Above all, I am person-centered: I start by learning who you are as an individual, your strengths and challenges, and then figure out which clinical approaches can work best for you. I often draw from Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and am pursuing further training in these modalities. I very much look forward to meeting you and taking this journey together!
Through a blend of evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and solution-focused techniques, I provide practical tools to manage emotions, build confidence, and create lasting change. My role is guiding you in discovering your strengths, deepening self-awareness, and learning how to respond to life’s challenges with clarity and confidence.
Hi, I’m a Columbia University–trained clinician with 20 years of experience working with college learners in a range of roles—including psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, and professor. I specialize in supporting young adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, identity development, and even high-performance areas like academics and sports. I bring both clinical depth and real-world understanding to the therapy room—and what makes me a little different is that I genuinely get the college experience. I’ve spent my career in it, and I know how to blend evidence-based strategies with humor, warmth, and a nonjudgmental presence that helps clients feel both seen and empowered.
