Therapists for college students near Ann Arbor, MI
I am a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor (LLPC) practicing in Michigan at Deepwater Counseling. I completed a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Eastern Michigan University, a CACREP-accredited university in southeastern Michigan. I spent a few years in the public relations field, before deciding to pursue counseling. I have interned counseling at Deepwater Counseling for a year prior to making this my professional home. Both my academic and professional career have given me training in working with clients who have depression, anxiety, couples, family, and interpersonal relationship issues, stress related issues, anger issues, crisis counseling, grief counseling, life transitions, and a variety of other areas of counseling. I work with clients of all backgrounds, all religions, and communities. My approach to counseling is to meet my clients where they are, allowing for an opportunity to collaborate with my clients in determining how best to approach their needs. I simply ask that clients go into therapy with an open mind and are open to the process. This allows for guided conversation, with an empathetic, third-party in a completely safe, judgment-free, and collaborative environment. My goal is to provide an environment where you feel comfortable and supported. I have worked with clients both in-person and virtually. We will work on identifying goals that are important to you and help you explore ways you can achieve those goals. If at any time, you find that this therapeutic process is not meeting your needs, you have a right to request a change in direction or discontinue treatment. I look forward to meeting and working with you.

I am currently licensed in Michigan, South Carolina, Texas and Pennsylvania, and can see clients virtually in any of these states. I live in Michigan and can see clients in person or virtually in Michigan. My particular focus is on working with young adults and college students. I've worked with people on a variety of issues including unresolved trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, depression and anxiety just to name a few. I strive to create a safe and comfortable environment in which clients feel free to be themselves. I believe that growth and healing begins when people feel seen, accepted, and understood, and so I take the time to get to know you and understand the needs and issues that are unique to you.

Helping people who feel different, disconnected, and damaged learn to discover their strengths, find their voice, and live authentic lives.
I believe everyone deserves a nonjudgmental space in their life where they are fully seen, heard, and supported; where individuals of all identities can fully show up as themselves. I am deeply committed to providing you with that space. I create an environment of safety, warmth, curiosity, and openness in which my clients are able to explore the issues and harmful patterns causing them distress and discover healthy ways to live and thrive. I would be a good fit for anyone looking to gain coping skills, manage emotional and interpersonal stress, build self-esteem, and reduce mental health symptoms that are impacting their life. I utilize a collaborative process to help my clients learn important coping skills and tools to create a more fulfilling life. My approach is individualized, trauma informed and client-centered. I use techniques from DBT, CBT and ACT to support clients facing depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and past trauma. I help clients heal, set goals, develop skills, identify values, and manage difficult emotions and situations. I am deeply committed to providing you with an environment of safety, warmth, curiosity, and openness in which my clients are able to explore the issues and harmful patterns causing them distress and discover healthy ways to live and thrive. I operate from a core belief: you are the expert of your own experience. I deeply value and appreciate your innate wisdom and enjoy utilizing a collaborative approach to therapy. It is my job to cultivate a space where you can fully show up as yourself, regardless of any identities you hold. I will see you as a whole person, with lived experience that informs who you are and how you operate through the world, including the systems that you live within. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and look at things through a culturally responsive lens. Expect someone laidback, collaborative, empathetic, & who will get to know you & form a genuine relationship with you. In my free time, I enjoy playing video and tabletop games as well as relaxing with my 3 cats. For a free consultation or to schedule an appointment with me, please reach out to me. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Stress and anxiety create a different impact on everyone and taking steps to cope can, at times, be difficult on your own. People who are motivated to begin mental health treatment are some of the strongest people out there, even when it can feel overwhelming and scary to take that step. I have always felt a pull to help others in understanding your feelings and behaviors and in how to navigate your world in stressful situations. I work primarily with clients who are struggling with anxiety, stress, life transitions, grief/loss, and depression and can’t wait to begin doing some amazing, meaningful work with you! I have a desire to help others feel heard and my biggest goal is to lift people up who are struggling. I love to see the progress you can make with your goals and mental well-being and I want to be the person that you can count on for support! I intend to do this by listening, working with you, & meeting you where you’re at, as opposed to only giving advice. I’m so happy you’re deciding to take this step in beginning your mental health journey. Starting therapy can be an overwhelming and exciting experience, and I hope that we can work together towards any goals you may have.

We are seeing clients virtually and in person in Brighton and East Lansing & Okemos depending on availability! We believe in the power to restore and heal through the process of counseling. Restoration means an act of restoring or the condition of being restored, such as bringing back to a former position or condition. Here at Restore & Renew Counseling, we believe in the mission of working with our clients to achieve a restored sense of self and renewal. We strive to create a judgement free environment that fosters growth and inspires people to become the best version of themselves. We are a group of authentic therapists that strive to find joy in the small things, but truly have hearts of gold. Restoration and renewal is always our goal, and we recognize that looks different for each person. We all believe that humans are among the greatest creation and we are here to embrace and empower each individual that we serve. The process is much like what happens when a mechanic restores old vehicles: the cars are taken apart to be rebuilt – slowly, with diligence and great care. Restored vehicles are often more beautiful in their renewed state than in their original condition.
