Specialize in PTSD, especially Complex Trauma
I offer both psychotherapy and neuropsychological evaluations in my practice. In therapy, I work with college students who are experiencing distress related to anxiety, depression, disconnection in relationships, attention difficulties, and learning disabilities. I strive to recognize each individual client's strengths as we also pinpoint effective strategies to increase overall life satisfaction. As a neuropsychological evaluator, I specialize in the identification of learning disorders, attention difficulties, anxiety, and autism spectrum disorders.
I work with folks who experience anxiety, trauma, difficulty with life transitions, struggles with family dynamics, difficulty setting appropriate boundaries and LGBTQIA+ related struggles. I work to create a safe space for you to feel comfortable, supported and heard throughout the therapy process. We will work together to develop coping skills and utilize your inner strengths to achieve your goals. I believe in highlighting strengths, empowering individuals and helping others set healthy boundaries. I offer an empathetic place to process while also challenging you to be outside your comfort zone. I provide LGBTQIA+ affirmative care and I am also EMDR Trained.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist providing telehealth therapy throughout New York and Massachusetts. I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), tailoring treatment to each individual's unique needs and goals. I work with students navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, academic pressures, perfectionism, relationship concerns, identity development, and other emotional challenges that commonly arise during college and young adulthood. I also support individuals experiencing depression, difficulties with emotional regulation, and major life changes. My approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I strive to create a space where clients feel comfortable exploring their experiences while developing practical strategies to manage challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.
Starting or returning to college can bring up unique challenges—navigating relationships, managing stress, adjusting to new independence, or figuring out who you are and what you want. I work best with students who are thoughtful, curious, and open to exploring their inner world, even if that feels a little intimidating at first. Many of my clients are balancing academics with the ups and downs of friendships, family, dating, and questions about their identity. My practice is LGBTQ-affirming and welcoming to students of all backgrounds. I provide a calm and supportive space where you can slow down, untangle what feels overwhelming, and begin to feel more grounded. Whether you’re seeking clarity in relationships, support with stress or anxiety, or a place to process deeper emotions, therapy can be a meaningful step toward feeling more connected and at ease with yourself. I look forward to supporting you!
I offer 60 minute sessions and specialize in half day therapy retreats. A therapy retreat is an efficient and comprehensive pathway to heal trauma in consecutive days instead of over many years in weekly therapy, and can accelerate symptom relief. I utilize evidence-based modalities such as EMDR, Progressive Counting, and the Flash Technique to effectively heal the roots of distressing emotions and negative beliefs stored within traumatic memories. I bring my passion for somatic psychology, trauma-sensitive mindfulness, and attachment theory to my therapeutic approach. I invite my clients to offer a gentle curiosity to all parts of themselves, so that together we may attune to what the body, heart, and spirit are most needing to restore wholeness. I offer Telehealth and in-person sessions at my Portland Old Port office. I welcome the opportunity to hear from you to determine if my services are a good fit for what you are seeking.
I have been providing counseling for over a decade. My clients describe me as funny, warm, helpful and non-judgmental. If you’re struggling, send me an email and we can set up an appointment. I also can refer you to personal trainer, life coach, and psychiatrist if needed.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not like yourself lately, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. I’m a nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, and I believe the best care happens when we work together. As a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner, I look at your mental and physical health as parts of the same, connected story—not separate issues. In our work together, you can expect a compassionate, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you feel truly heard. I take a holistic and individualized approach, helping you understand what’s behind your symptoms, explore treatment options in clear, practical terms, and build strategies that fit your life and goals. I’ve supported people from late adolescence through older adulthood as they navigate life’s transitions. I have worked with young adults facing career transitions and the stress that often comes with major life changes. I also help individuals manage depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, and mood disorders. Whether you’re continuing a treatment plan that’s already helping or seeking psychiatric care for the first time, I’ll meet you where you are. My goal is to help you feel respected, understood, and empowered to take an active role in your care.
Therapy can be beneficial and instrumental if you are looking for change in your life. We all have the ability to make positive changes to improve our lives. With years of experience working with adolescents, and adults, I am available to support you with daily struggles and achieving life goals. Specializing in issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and acculturation, I have much experience working in the school system and have a strong background in crisis intervention. I also speak Portuguese fluently. Young adults often express finding it easy to connect with me, and say that "she gets me." My practice is solution focused and tailored to each individual. I want you to leave feeling like you've gained something from our meeting. Clients appreciate my emphatic, enthusiastic, and direct nature. Searching for a therapist can be one of the most difficult parts of coping, healing, and self-empowerment, because it's the first thing you must do. You must force yourself out of your comfort zone and out of whatever routine you've had before, to take the initiative and embark on a new path. When we're at our best, stepping out of our comfort zones can be daunting; when we're feeling vulnerable, it can seem nearly impossible. No matter what prompted you to take this first step, I'd like to be there for your second. I have a deep affinity for those affected by trauma, including sexual assault and combat, as well as extensive experience and desire to work with those with perinatal issues (such as post-partum depression), issues of gender and racial justice, childhood and teenage transitions, depression, and chronic illness. My therapeutic approach focuses on creating an empathic environment where you feel safe and relaxed, and where we can use every tool available to brighten your present and empower your future. This may involve playing a game or taking a walk as often as we spend time in the office.
