I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master's degree in Counseling with a concentration in Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I have experience working with adjudicated youth in residential treatment, inpatient treatment, and at a PHP/IOP eating disorder treatment facility. My specialty areas include trauma, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, communication, and codependency. I approach therapy from a trauma-informed, client-centered perspective and am in alignment with Health at Every Size and Intuitive Eating principles that I incorporate into disordered eating and eating disorder treatment. I believe that the therapeutic relationship can be one of the most healing and safe relationships encountered so I strive to meet clients where they're at with empathy and genuineness. I aim to support clients and walk alongside them in their healing journey while highlighting their strengths. I am EMDR trained and enjoy incorporating EMDR into treatment as appropriate. I also utilize techniques and interventions from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). Foresight helps you find your path to mental wellness. We’re a community of mental health experts who offer a dynamic range of care that flexes with your particular needs and goals. Our team includes licensed therapists, psychiatric providers, researchers, a dedicated care team and more who bring you a thoughtful experience that blends traditional therapy with a technology-backed approach. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Dallas, TX

I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I obtained both my Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Tyler. I have over 11 years of experience in nursing working in various fields and with a variety of patient populations. I have experience working with patients needing mental health services both inpatient and outpatient. I am dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with mental health concerns by increasing access to those needing mental health treatment while providing support, compassion, and understanding. I am here for the patient and want to ensure that all his or her needs are met. I have a passion for working in mental health services and genuinely care about each individual. I listen to his or her concerns and history to develop a diagnosis and formulate a treatment plan with the patient. The patients preferences and needs will lead the treatment approach initially and going forward. I include the patient in all aspects of care. Listening to his or her concerns, symptoms, and history is an important starting point in developing a diagnosis. The diagnosis is thoroughly discussed with the patient and I will answer any questions that present. Following the diagnosis, a plan of care is developed with the patients input. Patient preferences for therapy, medication, or both, are included in the treatment plan, and any referrals necessary will be made. Medication, if necessary and agreed upon, will be called in to the patients preferred pharmacy and any remaining questions or concerns will be addressed. A follow-up visit to assess ongoing effectiveness of the treatment plan will be made. At consecutive appointments, any necessary changes to the treatment plan will be made. However, I am available for concerns, questions, or needs that may arise prior to follow-up visits when needed.

Currently accepting new clients who live in Texas! You’re exhausted and worn out from the daily tasks of life and the emotions that feel all too heavy right now. You find yourself losing track of time, endlessly scrolling through the internet just to take your mind off things. You crave connection with those around you, but the heaviness of your emotions makes you feel like you’re a burden to those closest to you. On the inside, you battle with thoughts of all the ways that you do not measure up, and the feeling of never being good enough. You worry if people really want to be your friend and know you for you. The feelings of anxiety and loneliness feel closest to you. You are usually the one to put others first, but you worry if people really see you and know you for you. You crave authentic connection and a space to be heard, seen, and accepted for who you truly are, and not what others expect you to be. You want to belong, to vulnerably share life with friends and family, to love and be loved without fear. You’ve tried figuring out things on your own and even dab in the latest self-help trend, but you have found that it’s not working as you had imagined. You are used to being self-sufficient and sorting out things on your own, but you have come to realize that you need help. It takes courage to ask for help, we are not meant to do life alone but are made for connection. You see this, you know this, you seek this. I understand that hesitancy can accompany the idea of therapy, so I prioritize creating a safe and trusting space that allows you to come out of hiding and show up as yourself, as you feel seen and heard to process your thoughts and emotions. During our time together we will explore your story and the deeper meanings and root causes of your pain, childhood experiences, difficult thoughts, and behavior patterns. Through a lens of curiosity, you will gain greater insight and new tools to bring about the change that you have been desiring. Sessions with me are filled with compassion, warmth, non-judgment, and authenticity. I want to help you reconnect with yourself and leave those worries behind, so you can live a more peaceful life. Christian counseling is available for clients requesting it. Together, we will get you to a place where you are able to show up as yourself in relationships, meaningfully connect with those around you, to enjoy the life that you are currently living. Feel free to send a message, to see if we will be a good fit!

Hi, I'm Dr G. You're likely here because you're feeling alone, stuck, hurting, or overwhelmed...I get it. My niche is working with the unique mental health concerns that affect marginalized/minoritized, first generation/immigrant, LGBTQ, non-traditional, and migrant college student populations. I have worked in multiple clinical settings and at several universities (including UC, Berkeley, Cal State University, Long Beach, Idaho State University, and Saint Edward's University in Austin, TX) with a diverse range of clients and presenting concerns. I have extensive training incorporating CBT strategies in treatment and providing trauma-informed care for concerns like anxiety, depression, life transitions, homesickness, and navigating complex relationships. I work to build trust with my clients in order to form a collaborative dynamic that focuses on growing self-understanding while building tools to meet therapeutic goals. The specific approach I use is grounded in evidence-based treatments, empathy, and a multicultural perspective that honors how identities and social contexts shape our experiences. Ready to shift things up?...I’d be excited and humbled to be a part of your process.

Seeking support for yourself or your child(ren) takes courage so let me be the first to congratulate you on taking this first step. I am here to assist you in navigating the many changes and challenges that we are sometimes faced with in this life. In assisting you on your journey, I take a Cognitive Behavioral approach which seeks to target your thoughts, behaviors and feelings. In addition to CBT, I also incorporate solution-focused techniques to aid you in achieving your therapeutic goals. In the same way we seek a doctor for medical needs and a dentist for all things teeth related, seeking support from a mental health clinician is simply a way to meet your mental health needs. My purpose is to be the support you need.
