We're a quirky practice specializing in those who suspect they may be neurodivergent, questioning their sexuality or gender identity, and those who are interested in or practicing ENM/open/poly relationships.
J Snyder Therapeutic Services is a group practice offering psychotherapy/counseling, as well as Psychiatry in conjunction with medication management provided by Nurse Practitioners. We have achieved success by upholding our values of integrity, transparency, accessibility, and ensuring that our staff are competently addressing our patients concerns to improve their dispositions as soon as possible. JSTS operates out of multiple, physical locations in conjunction with delivering services via Telehealth, in keeping with our goal of creating both in-person and virtual atmospheres where providers can collaborate in an effort to research, practice, and evaluate the efficacy of their treatments. We emphasize supervision, ongoing training, and accountability to further elevate the scope and quality of the services that we provide.

You never quite felt like you fit into this world, never checked off the boxes you were forced into, but you still strive to make a difference. Maybe you relate with being a geek, nerd, misfit, or gamer. I love to work with those who want help creating their own life, their own identity. Whether you’re part of the LGBTQIA+ community, neurodivergent, or the misfit community, I’d love to help you rewrite your story to make it your own. And feel free to unmask yourself, you’re accepted here. I am a warm and welcoming therapist, but I won’t sugarcoat things for you. I’m blunt and will call you out, but I’ll always remain on your side. I meet you where you’re at, whether that’s discovering your identity or diving into deep trauma work. I use a humanist approach, with touches of somatic and strength-based modalities.
You’re feeling like you’re barely holding your life together, and you’re tired of pretending you’re okay. Maybe you’re a little quirky, a little artistic, but you’ve always felt like something was “off” and you never quite fit in. Yeah, all of that is exhausting. I want you to find real joy in your life, whatever that looks like for you. I love working with individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community, those who might be a little neurospicy, and others who just want to explore their identity more. You won’t have to spend the first 3 sessions worrying if you’re going to be accepted, you already are. My style is eclectic and I’m always willing to meet you where you’re at in your healing. I like to focus on gentle guiding and building tools. I enjoy following where you want to lead, side quests and all! Don’t worry, if I notice we’re avoiding something, I will circle back to it. I’m friendly, accepting, and a little silly (with a dark sense of humor). I love laughing at the absurdity of life! I want to go into the hard, messy, and weird stuff with you. I want you to understand yourself and reframe your narrative. I know admitting you’re not okay feels scary, but I’d love to be with you, looking underneath everything that has been piled on top of you.
Hey, Hi, I'm Fig—I'm a witchy, disabled, neurospicy, agender, queerdo who also happens to be a therapist. As an AuDHDer who has spent many years navigating the crushing weight of autism burnout in late stage capitalism, and the "Too Muchness" that seems to get tacked onto neurodivergent identities, I need you to know that I'm not here to "fix" you. I don't view therapy as a place where we show up and magically make everything perfect, and I'm not a therapist who claims to have a solution for every problem, or even most of them. I am here to walk with you as you reconnect with your body, your voice, and your resilience. I work primarily with neurodivergent, disabled LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples from a person-centered, trauma-focused and trauma-informed lens, which means I want our time together to be collaborative. I don't assume I know everything about you or what's going on in your brain, and I show up to sessions ready to do what feels good to you. Don't feel like "getting into it today"? Cool. Let's hang out and color instead. Need to sit on the floor for this or every session? Done. Whether you just need to vent or you need someone to cry with you while you process some really tough stuff—I've got you. I might be a good fit for you if you're interested in processing relationship trauma and abuse, processing sexual trauma, understanding healthy relationship building and communication (in monogamous or ENM/poly/non monogamy relationships), are looking to explore kink dynamics or gender & sexuality, are looking to process grief, understand your neurodiversity better, or just need someone to talk to who might just "get" it. Therapy is hard work. If you're already this far you've already begun your hard work. Pretty cool, huh? I'm proud of you. Keep going.
We are a liberation-focused therapy and consulting practice offering affirming care, regardless of your identity, we’re here to offer our support and ALL are welcome. Our practice emphasizes affirming care for queer, neurodivergent, and marginalized communities because these groups often struggle to find safe providers. At the same time, therapy is for anyone seeking personal growth and support. You don’t have to hold a marginalized identity to benefit from what we offer – we’re here for the full range of human experience. We believe that healing is inseparable from justice. We offer therapy from a perspective that acknowledges systems of power and oppression. We exist to affirm and support the marginalized identities that are most impacted by systemic injustice and harm. We also recognize our shortcomings and lack of power. We can’t change systemic injustice, but we are dedicated to ongoing education and training that equips us to do our very best at offering support for marginalized groups.
I’m passionate about providing creative and exploratory therapeutic practices to help children, adolescents, families, and individuals of all ages thrive. I truly value open communication and an open-minded approach throughout the therapeutic process. My goal is to create a welcoming space where clients can think, feel, explore, and make sense of their innermost experiences. I strive to foster an empathetic, respectful, and safe environment that allows everyone to process their unique life challenges. Over the past fifteen years, I've had the pleasure of working with a variety of people in different settings, both in the community and through one-on-one interactions. Alongside my MSW/LSW, I’ve earned certifications in areas like Child Welfare, Complex Case Management, Family Intervention Counseling, Crisis Management, and Drug and Alcohol Counseling. I embrace an person-centered approach to treatment in a way that's holistic, collaborative, and trauma-informed. I incorporate a range of clinical techniques, including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and more, to tailor my support to each individual.
I employ a holistic approach enabling the client to heal in their own time within a safe, understanding and caring environment. The world of academia presents it's own stressors in many arenas; performance, time management, sexual assault, depression, anxiety, stress and relationships. Through the utilization of various techniques, these issues can become manageable. In relationship therapy, I assist couples in doing the work needed to heal their relationship and move forward, with healthier communication and expectations. Healing from sexual abuse is a painful journey. I have experience in working with both victims and perpetrators, which gives me a unique perspective and understanding to assist you in your healing journey. My focus is on childhood sexual abuse, PTSD, women's issues, and trauma as well as other issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, relationship issues, and domestic violence. I am trained in EMDR, which is the number one therapy for trauma. I work with people whose lives have been affected by codependency.

I can work on reduced rates, and I welcome clients seeking affordable therapy. Now accepting new clients—reach out to schedule a free consultation. You don't need to walk your path alone. With the right support, therapeutic tools, and commitment to the deep work, new healing pathways from within you can emerge. Helping people feel more connected, alive and easeful in a difficult world is what excites me about the therapeutic process. While living with mental health challenges, it is difficult to know how to get unstuck or even to remember a time when things felt okay. I work collaboratively with clients to build on their strengths and identify goals that align with their values. We all develop strategies for survival that can be limiting over time. We can create more options that go beyond old strategies through practicing new ways of relating, recognizing nervous system patterns and strengthening the mind-body connection. Some of the approaches and techniques I use include parts work, attachment theory, mind-body therapy, guided visualization, somatic and movement based therapy. I am trauma focused and informed with an understanding of how systemic oppression contributes to illness, especially for those whose identities are devalued or erased.
Are you ready to: Make a change? Make a decision? Find a solution? Explore who you are? Explore what you want? Or maybe all of the above? Let me help you enhance your power. It can be difficult to seek therapy, yet it can be empowering once you’ve begun. My clinical approach is grounded in humanistic and person centered therapies which allows me to continuously adapt and grow based on the needs of my clients and their personal experiences. Since 2014, I have been a practicing clinician aiding individuals with a wide range of subject matter within various treatment environments. I have found the best outcomes arise from collaboration in the therapeutic alliance. Together we identify patterns, understand motives/points of view, and integrate thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. My goal is to aid in positive outcomes derived from awareness, skill building, holistic well-being, and healing. Modalities: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Challenging Thoughts, Reality Therapy
