I specialize in therapy for young and emerging adult women with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and OCD to help them find balance and gain new perspectives on how they see the world and themselves. I challenge Perfectionists, Overthinkers, and People Pleasers to step out of their black-and-white thinking. In our work together, we’ll explore the patterns that have protected you in the past, dive deeper into your experiences, and notice the stories that your mind is telling you. We’ll work with both your mind and body, helping you tune into how your thoughts, emotions, and physical responses are connected. As an integrative therapist, I blend evidence-based practices with a human, relational approach—drawing from different modalities to meet you where you are and what you need most. My goal is to provide a balanced, trauma-informed, and holistic approach that addresses the whole person—mind, body, and emotions. If you’re ready to understand yourself more deeply, build healthier boundaries, strengthen your self-trust, and create more space for flexibility and self-compassion, feel free to reach out or schedule a free consultation through my website—I’d be honored to support you!

I understand that many seek therapy during very difficult times, times when overwhelming life stressors and transitions begin to interfere with daily life, relationships, or a sense of well-being. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist, I’m here to help adults ages 18 and up develop practical tools and insight so these symptoms no longer dictate how they live. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with patients in overcoming mental health symptoms that impact day-to-day functioning. This includes discomfort in social situations due to anxiety, depression, or low motivation; or seeking treatment because of significant life challenges such as relationship discord, professional stressors and burnout, and loss. No matter the struggle, my goal is to assist in the development of tools and coping skills that help patients better manage emotions. If you relate to these struggles and are ready to hear more, please reach out today. Together, we will build practical tools, insight, and resilience so you can navigate challenges with greater confidence and clarity. I believe a strong collaborative relationship is key to helping you manage symptoms of anxiety and depression and move toward living the life you want. That’s why therapy with me is collaborative, respectful, and focused on creating a space where you feel heard and understood. Our time together is conversational, not clinical; I don’t use a lot of clinical jargon, as I feel that this approach allows for the clearest communication and reduces the presence of a power dynamic. When people ask me why I chose the field of social work and became a therapist, my answer is simple: it just seemed to fit me. My first introduction to social work and psychotherapy was during my second year of college. Of course, I had an interest in psychology, but I’ve also always had a keen curiosity about people and their stories. Social work and psychotherapy certainly allow me to combine those two interests. Still, it wasn't just the course work in those classes that caught my attention – it was the professors. They spoke with compassion about helping others in a way that was authentic and genuine. By the end of those classes, I'd found a profession that allowed me to be my authentic self and still help people. I enjoy live music and spending time at the beach when I’m not with patients. I'm also an avid hockey and baseball fan – go NY Islanders and Mets!

I provide a supportive space where you will be heard, understood, and validated. Together, we will work through feelings of doubt and anxiety so you can move forward with greater confidence and clarity. In our work together, you’ll begin to discover your unique voice and learn how to use it to advocate for yourself. You’ll also learn that your worth is not defined by other people’s validation—and that making mistakes is a natural and important part of growth. My approach is influenced by C.G. Jung, Viktor Frankl (Man's Search for Meaning) Socratic dialogue, Buddhism and Quaker meetings. I work best with the person who sees their life as a journey of self-discovery. I will help you uncover the solutions that you already have and see the problematics of those solutions. I will help you listen to your muse, interpret your dreams, identify your interpersonal patterns and face the fears and anxieties that haunt you. I will treat your troubles with the utmost respect because they help you learn and grow. Gratitude softens pain. I find parallels between creativity & spiritual inspiration.

I work with you to not just understand what's going on, but also to develop tools to help. Tools to stop panic attacks, tools to manage depression, tools to get organized and figure out what you want in life. We work together to see what works reliably for you. In addition to talking things through, in session and between sessions sometimes you might be writing, sometimes trying a challenging behavior change, sometimes engaging in mindfulness, and sometimes using visualizations. My aim is for you to feel better, and to know what to do to keep feeling better or help yourself if problems resurface. And I try to work efficiently with you, so you are back to your life (and ending therapy) as soon as makes sense for you. Give me a call to set up an initial (free) conversation, at 303-870-9195.

Hi, I'm Dr. Spesh, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with specialized experience in culturally informed treatment of anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and other stress-related disorders. I enjoy working with culturally diverse individuals with a broad range of psychological problems, life, & relationship issues. I am a Yale-trained clinician with over a decade of experience in providing psychotherapy. At my practice, D.I.V.E. Therapy & Consulting LLC, I provide individual therapy focused on a range of issues. As an LGBTQ ally with a specialized background in LGBTQ health, I also offer evaluations and letters for gender-affirming hormone therapy and surgery.
