I provide mental health care for adults with a multimodal approach, ensuring relevant and informed patient care personalized to your specific lifestyle, wants, and needs. You are a unique individual with your own neurobiochemical makeup, which is why we work together to create a holistic treatment plan that you feel is realistic and sustainable. My specialty is in taking in a functional approach to psychiatry, with goals to discover the root cause of symptoms, provide options for treatment, and offer education for an informed therapeutic journey. I look forward to exploring the best options for you in our work together. Working together, you can expect a collaborative, therapeutic relationship, nonjudgmental environment, and creative solutions. I believe in taking a holistic approach while practicing with current evidence-based treatments, incorporating medications, psychotherapy, lifestyle counseling, and functional/nutritional psychiatry. My style of psychotherapy is integrative, combining Mindfulness, psychodynamic, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy concepts/practices. Before becoming a Psych NP, I practiced as an RN in numerous medical specialties and discovered a passion for psychiatry over time. I saw how mental health was not equally prioritized to physical health, and believe it is all connected. This experience allows me to bring a well-rounded medical background to patient care while addressing psychiatric needs, contributing to holistic treatment.

YOU’RE NOT LIVING THE LIFE YOU WANT TO BE LIVING. You’re unhappy, but you’re not sure why. At times, we can feel lost, numb, and disconnected from ourselves. There can be many reasons for this, and through our work together, we will understand what these are and how to reconnect, to live a vibrant, fully embodied life. Perhaps, no matter how many times you talk about past trauma, it still feels raw. Something isn’t healing. SOME PART STILL FEELS STUCK. It’s been my experience that trauma lives in the body, as well as the mind, and when we treat only the thoughts or the pictures in our heads, the deepest part of what is hurt sometimes isn’t heard. I specialize in the treatment of trauma, particularly childhood sexual abuse, in techniques that reach the whole self, such as EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS), and will work together to heal the past so that you can live fully in the present as a whole and empowered self. HAVING A NEW BABY can bring with it the highest highs and the lowest lows. It is normal to feel overwhelmed, and scared, and that you’re doing it wrong. Parenthood is a time of growth, but also an adjustment period, maybe the biggest we have ever faced! AS A MOTHER MYSELF, I understand this journey, and through my past work and training in perinatal loss and mood disorders, am here to help you navigate this time, and feel stronger as a result. Any transition into a new time of life, be it as a college student, first-time parent, or navigating midlife, there is the potential for creativity and growth, but uncertainty, anxiety, and fear as well. I’M HERE TO HELP YOU THROUGH THESE TIMES OF CHANGE. My approach is collaborative, creative, and individualized. Just as every fingerprint and person is unique, it’s my belief that every therapy should be as well.

Hi, I'm Lisa! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice in New York and Florida. I realize how daunting it can be to reach out when you’re struggling and find a therapist you implicitly trust. My personal experience in therapy informs my work and fuels connection for those in need of emotional nourishment, fulfillment, and a new foundation of confidence. With a deep passion for eating disorder recovery advocacy, I help individuals to recover from eating disorders, self-esteem, and body image issues. I strive to create a safe space and foster a genuine, compassionate, non-judgmental relationship with my clients. Everyone’s struggle is unique, yet together we will nurture your self-compassion, food freedom, and body appreciation, so you are able to show up as your authentic self and access your full potential. By validating your perspective, I am dedicated to creating a safe, encouraging, non-judgmental environment where you can explore and express your emotions, discover proper coping mechanisms and life skills to contend with daily challenges and make empowering choices. I encourage the importance of vulnerability, authenticity, communication, self-acceptance, and positive self-talk. Throughout my own personal journey, I trusted and felt the most connection with the clinicians who were recovered themselves. I have learned to own my story and share my truth to make you feel more trusting and comfortable. Having this connection has proved invaluable. I am so grateful for my work and love being able to help others to find the same freedom that I did. Owning my story, stepping outside my comfort zone, and leaning into discomfort has helped me become the person I am today, doing what I know I was always meant to do. Recovery can be your reality when you grant yourself kindness and compassion. I aim to provide support and education to individuals and families affected by eating disorders. I create a bridge for those needing and seeking help by connecting patients with a full comprehensive out-patient team including myself, an ED-sensitive Physician, Dietician, and Psychiatrist, if need be. A triple-team approach is often essential for those in recovery, and I collaborate with some of the best ED specialists and treatment centers in NYC and Florida. I am a graduate of New York University's Applied Psychology, Masters Counseling program for Mental Health and Wellness. Additionally, I have completed my BFA in Drama from Tisch School of the Arts and engaged in the MA, Drama Education Program at New York University. I am a member of The Academy of Eating Disorders and International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals Foundation. Additionally, I have actively participated in the comprehensive services of The National Alliance for Eating Disorders, Monte Nido & Affiliates, and Balance Eating Disorder Treatment Center, including various continuing education courses, trainings, clinical supervision groups, and national weekly support groups. I am licensed to practice psychotherapy and treat patients in New York, as well as patients that reside in Florida, via Telehealth.
Working with a counselor can be anxiety provoking, so my focus is on helping you to feel at ease and create clear goals to make you feel better. I love to support clients in developing skills to manage emotions, build mindfulness in moving through pain, and find compassionate ways to heal. I have spent over 15 years facilitating individual and group services that center around grief, schema, dissociation, and complex trauma. I have been trained in solution focused therapy, ACT, DBT, and EMDR. My passion is helping others customize their healing journey and to take pleasure in every step on their path. It's rare that anyone wakes up overnight a different person. Rather it's through the beautiful process that we develop insight, wisdom, and happiness.
I understand that many seek therapy during very difficult times, times when overwhelming life stressors and transitions begin to interfere with daily life, relationships, or a sense of well-being. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist, I’m here to help adults ages 18 and up develop practical tools and insight so these symptoms no longer dictate how they live. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with patients in overcoming mental health symptoms that impact day-to-day functioning. This includes discomfort in social situations due to anxiety, depression, or low motivation; or seeking treatment because of significant life challenges such as relationship discord, professional stressors and burnout, and loss. No matter the struggle, my goal is to assist in the development of tools and coping skills that help patients better manage emotions. If you relate to these struggles and are ready to hear more, please reach out today. Together, we will build practical tools, insight, and resilience so you can navigate challenges with greater confidence and clarity. I believe a strong collaborative relationship is key to helping you manage symptoms of anxiety and depression and move toward living the life you want. That’s why therapy with me is collaborative, respectful, and focused on creating a space where you feel heard and understood. Our time together is conversational, not clinical; I don’t use a lot of clinical jargon, as I feel that this approach allows for the clearest communication and reduces the presence of a power dynamic. When people ask me why I chose the field of social work and became a therapist, my answer is simple: it just seemed to fit me. My first introduction to social work and psychotherapy was during my second year of college. Of course, I had an interest in psychology, but I’ve also always had a keen curiosity about people and their stories. Social work and psychotherapy certainly allow me to combine those two interests. Still, it wasn't just the course work in those classes that caught my attention – it was the professors. They spoke with compassion about helping others in a way that was authentic and genuine. By the end of those classes, I'd found a profession that allowed me to be my authentic self and still help people. I enjoy live music and spending time at the beach when I’m not with patients. I'm also an avid hockey and baseball fan – go NY Islanders and Mets!
I am a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in evidence-based treatment for anxiety, OCD-related concerns, phobias, and sleep difficulties Over the past several years, I have noticed that many college students struggle academically due to undiagnosed ADHD, executive functioning challenges, and attention-related concerns that may go overlooked. In response to this need, I have added comprehensive and affordable ADHD diagnostic testing to my practice to help students better understand their difficulties, access appropriate treatment recommendations, and obtain accommodations when clinically indicated for academic settings and standardized testing. In addition to ADHD testing, I frequently work with students experiencing anxiety, obsessive thinking, perfectionism, panic, OCD symptoms, sleep disruption, and stress related to academic performance and life transitions.
Do you struggle with difficult emotions? Feel that something is missing? Unsatisfied with aspects of your life? Working together, I can help you learn to understand your feelings; untangle complicated emotions; increase positive experiences, improve communication and relationships; end cycles of depression and anxiety. Sometimes you feel the need or desire to initiate change. Other times change may present itself in a way that leaves you feeling that you have limited or no influence over your circumstances. I help people deal effectively with change. Is it time to prioritize what is important to you? I work with adults and adolescents removing barriers, initiating and navigating change that leads to a life they value and enjoy. If these sound like goals you have and you are ready to move forward we will be a good fit for working together.

Depression and anxiety can strike at any age. But understanding the developmental challenges our clients are facing, regardless of what life stage they are in, is fundamental to our approach. College students face an enormous array of stressors as they are learning to live independently, separating from home and family, figure out who they are and what they want to be, establishing or navigating new social groups, starting/searching for/ending significant romantic relationships, managing heavy workloads, or simply dealing with the pressure to excel. We are here to help you navigate these very real stressors, to empathize and to teach you skills to address the depression and/or anxiety these stressors can cause.
*Our practice is now accepting new students for individual counseling* Much of our suffering is stored throughout our body, leaving us with a racing mind and feelings of stress, anxiety, depression. By approaching healing through a lens that incorporates the whole-body, we will work together so that you can heal fully and sustainably. I specialize in working with individuals faced with persistent anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. Many of these symptoms will manifest in relationship issues, difficulty sleeping, or poor motivation. Together we will explore the root causes that perpetuate your suffering and develop strategies so that you can lead a more fulfilling and joyful life. I am a clinical social worker, yoga & mindfulness teacher. I blend my degree as a clinician along with training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Yoga Therapy to offer an integrative approach to treatment. I believe that in order to truly heal, we must honor our whole-body and mind working together. My mission is to uncover the most effective paths for guiding others in reducing suffering and increasing a sense of joy and fulfillment in everyday life. I am inspired when I see college-age men and women who are searching for emotional, financial, and intellectual independence. College can be a challenging time of finding identity and intimacy and I assist by helping clarify college relationships. Having gone to college and raising four children, I understand many things about the stages of early adulthood. I offer a safe space to process different parts that may be confusing in order to safely integrate all facets of personality and enhance congruence, agency, and personal power, enabling young adults to grow up healthy, more swiftly than struggling on their own.
