I believe that the foundation to effective and meaningful therapeutic work lies in the mutual building of a safe and trusting relationship in which the client feels valued, respected, and understood. Seeking therapeutic support requires a significant amount of courage. I take this seriously and feel deeply honored to be trusted to do this work and to witness the growth of those I serve. I value an inclusive and neurodiversity affirming approach to psychotherapy. I have ample experience working with people from varying socioeconomic, cultural and racial backgrounds, gender identities, and sexual orientations.

Licensed Dance/Movement Therapist

When emotions stir within, causing anxiety, depression, or distress in relationships, life can feel overwhelming. I view these shifts as gifts, like an indicator light your higher Self is yearning for a personal growth spurt. These feelings can be an opportunity to free yourself from the experiences that hold you back from living your best life. My ideal client is ready to explore their internal world to make the changes needed to create a positive transformation. I am a body-based trauma-informed therapist with a master’s degree in dance/movement therapy. I use the creative process and visualization as a tool for exploration. The imagination can bypass the parts of the brain that keep us stuck in unwanted behaviors and can more easily access the parts that hold the answers. By engaging the mind and body with resources that calm the central nervous system, we have greater access to the pain filled memories impeding us from reaching our full potential and allow insight to surface. I integrate CRM (Comprehensive Resource Model), a neurobiological trauma model to help release traumatic events that may be locked into the body by using resources that can be used between sessions. After 20 years of working as a therapist, I took a deep dive into my own therapeutic process and wrote a book about the experience - a memoir to be published soon. My goal is to be your guide, a doula of sorts, to help birth the person you have always wanted to become. Call or email to see if we are a match for your personal growth journey. My availability fluctuates so please feel free to check in with me if available times do not meet your needs.

I am a Ukrainian-born therapist-in-training with a lifelong passion for psychology. Though my journey into mental health wasn’t straightforward, it’s deeply personal. For years, I pursued a career in finance, believing it was the path to success and fulfillment. I thought I was living a happy life, but societal pressure had pushed me into a mold that didn’t feel authentic. The stress and constant pressure finally culminated in my first panic attack, followed by a severe episode of OCD that left me utterly defeated. Through years of therapy, healing, and self-discovery, I emerged stronger, with a profound appreciation for life and a renewed sense of purpose. Leaving my finance career behind, I stepped into the field of mental health to help others navigate their own “dark nights of the soul.” I aim to empower individuals to become their happiest, healthiest selves, unlocking their potential for growth and transformation on every level. In my work, I use evidence-based approaches tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. My favorite interventions include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), where we explore and challenge unhealthy beliefs and thought patterns that hold you back. I also take a trauma-informed approach, understanding that past experiences shape our behaviors and thoughts, often on a subconscious level. To treat anxiety and OCD, I employ Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT), which help rewire the brain's response to fear and intrusive thoughts. These tools are backed by science and offer lasting change by utilizing the brain’s neuroplasticity—what fires together, wires together, as the neuropsychologist Donald Hebb famously said. And if you’re a Harry Potter fan like me, you might appreciate this: I often think of mental health struggles as Dementors, sucking away joy and energy, leaving us feeling powerless. But just as in the Wizarding World, there’s a way to protect yourself—the Patronus Charm! In therapy, evidence-based interventions, the therapeutic alliance, and empathy work like your Patronus, empowering you to fight back against the challenges that feel all-consuming. Together, we can work to summon your happiness and create a safe, fulfilling future.

I often work with young people struggling to understand who they are and why they do the things they do. This may be felt as a gnawing sense of dissatisfaction or despair, or a more intense experience of feeling lost and out of control. We work together to identify your concerns in a safe environment that emphasizes giving language to emotional experience, identifying unconscious patterns of behavior, and finding meaning in your life.

You are the person that people often describe as intelligent, resourceful, humorous, well-liked, talented; an individual that accomplishes whatever they set out to do. You strive to excel at whatever you take on & some may even call you a perfectionist. You can't seem to understand why, or how, you continue to feel stuck, overwhelmed, tense, or perhaps, even sad or hopeless. The facts suggest you possess many of the positive qualities others seem to admire, and from afar, you appear to be someone that seemingly has it all! So why do you continue to struggle in your relationships, work or interests? Why don't you feel "enough?" To wake each day with the ability to say, “I am enough” & to actually believe it...THAT would be incredible! Managing or alleviating feelings of anxiety, depression &/or self-doubt, would be a freedom you've not felt in a long time. Being able to smile more & be more vulnerable in your relationships and life choices sounds like a dream come true! As your therapist I will help you identify the factors that interfere with you becoming your best self. We will work as a team to develop life strategies that work for YOU so you can better manage it all. I offer online, video therapy via a secure, HIPAA compliant platform, to individuals in New York State. If you think we may be a good fit please contact me for a free consultation.

Marriage & Family Therapist

I am a dedicated Marriage and Family Therapist committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families in navigating the complexities of relationships. My initial motivation for pursuing Marriage & Family Therapy was my desire to support and uplift families, particularly in areas where seeking mental health services is still stigmatized. I have experience working with sexual, physical, emotional, racial, and intergenerational trauma as a trauma therapist. I've also had training in Gottman therapy, so I can address your concerns in couples therapy. I am bilingual providing therapy in English as well as Spanish. My practice, which is based on a systems framework, places a strong emphasis on providing a secure and accepting environment where clients can discuss issues, develop relationships, and explore obstacles. I am a strong proponent of collaborative therapy, where clients and I work together to develop objectives and tactics that will lead to positive change. Whether it's dealing with communication problems, handling life changes, or handling interpersonal disputes, my mission is to enable people and families to create happier, healthier relationships. I approach each individual with curiosity & acceptance. I see my clients as the real experts on themselves- each in the process of navigating the world & learning as they go. I'm actively non-judgmental & find it most therapeutic to provide clients with a safe context in which to explore thoughts & feelings, gain insight, & problem solve in a lasting & empowering manner. I actively listen & offer feedback, reflection, levity, education &, depending upon the issue at hand, more directive advice. The needs of each client naturally vary. I believe it is important to meet people where they are, rather than to apply a specific modality or approach. One of my guiding principles is to "Assume Nothing." I find this allows a clients most pressing needs to unfold more naturally. One of my specialty areas is the human-animal bond. Companion animals play an important role in our individual lives and as members of the family. Issues that can be a focus of treatment: loss of a pet, pets and divorce, children and pets, illness of a pet, emotional support animals, animal advocacy.

Fairfield, CT

Do you worry about the future? Would you describe yourself as having difficulty with perfectionism, relationships with family & friends, social anxiety or identity? We are a small practice with two therapists--Spencer & Carlie who love providing therapy to young adults as they navigate this exciting and nerve wracking time moving from childhood and dependence to adulthood and independence. We often work with young adults who may have had therapy in high school but did not previously find therapy helpful (often due to a lack of agency in picking their therapist, misunderstanding or invalidation of their experiences, disruptions in confidentiality or lack of concrete coping skills/goals worked on). We provide a reparative experience where clients feel genuinely supported and able to advocate and ask for what they need. We use a variety of different therapy modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal-Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Attachment Based Therapy, EMDR, Goal-oriented Therapy and Mindfulness. Our clients often move towards a feeling of confidence, improved relationships and belief in their abilities to handle any challenges that may come their way.

Sometimes you wonder: When did life become so tough? Many things can knock us off balance. Betrayal from friends. Abuse by a trusted one, and the numbing shock of PTSD. Grief and loss. Trauma doesn’t look the same for every person. The common lie my clients tell themselves is, “It’s not that bad, other people have it worse.” You’re not other people, and if your life is being impacted by heavy emotions you’re carrying, you’re allowed to get help. Everything that happens to you, matters. I help people break through the overwhelm. I'm a board-certified psychotherapist specializing in trauma and PTSD, including trauma from abuse, rape, sexual assault and relationship violence. My collaborative approach focuses on your strengths, creating a safe environment that fosters growth. It’s important for someone to be in your corner - not to judge you, or tell you what to do, but to truly listen to you and guide you as you heal.
