Hi! Welcome to my practice. My name is Wendy Emory, LICSW. You are welcome to look at my profile on Psychology Today. Many clients come to me as they're feeling stuck and something isn't working for them, or alternatively, they're experiencing anxiety and overwhelm, perhaps related to transitions or trauma. Either way, I work to help people access what already exists within them, and help them feel better. I'm certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which is a body based oriented talk therapy used to help people heal from trauma and other relational injuries.

With over a decade of experience, Dipesh Patel helps adults navigate anxious thoughts, career curveballs, confidence slumps, parenting puzzles, infertility/family building stress, dating detours, and LGBTQ+ concerns. He believes therapy should create momentum—measurable progress, clearer thinking, and lasting change that resonates beyond the session. His mantra is that therapy, good therapy, should create some sort of movement. Whether it’s helping you create actual, tangible change in your life or helping move along an internal conversation that you can’t seem to make progress in.

Many of the students I work best with are unsure about medication—or have tried it before and didn’t get the results they hoped for. You might feel hesitant about starting something new, worried about side effects, or unsure if medication is even the right step for you. Some students come in after a frustrating experience, where a medication didn’t help, caused unwanted effects, or just didn’t feel like a good fit. Others have been trying to manage things on their own but are starting to feel stuck with anxiety, low mood, or ongoing stress. My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and focused on helping you make informed decisions. Medication is always a choice, not an expectation. We take time to understand what’s been going on, what hasn’t worked in the past, and what your options are moving forward. If medication is part of the plan, we approach it carefully and adjust based on how you actually feel—not just a checklist. Alongside medication management, I provide clear education and brief supportive therapy so you understand what’s happening and have practical ways to cope day-to-day. If you’re looking for a balanced, no-pressure approach where your concerns are taken seriously, we’ll likely be a good fit.

I am a licensed mental health counselor specializing in helping young adults navigate anxiety, depression, academic stress, relationship issues, and life transitions. Currently, my practice offers telehealth sessions, providing flexibility and convenience for clients. Before starting my private practice, I worked in various settings, including schools, residential programs, and community-based organizations. I am passionate about what I do, and my primary goal is to help clients build confidence, improve their overall well-being, and equip them with effective tools to handle future challenges and stressors. My approach to therapy is eclectic, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and acceptance-based strategies to foster meaningful, positive change. Above all, I believe that a trusting, supportive relationship is at the heart of the therapeutic process. I work best with high-functioning adults and students who seem put together on the outside but feel anxious, overwhelmed, or burned out on the inside. Many are caregivers, first-generation professionals, or cycle-breakers navigating pressure, perfectionism, family expectations, or relationship stress. They’re thoughtful and motivated for growth. They want practical tools to manage stress and set boundaries, while also understanding deeper patterns that keep them stuck. If you’re tired of just surviving and ready to feel more grounded and intentional, we’ll likely be a good fit. Therapy with me is warm, culturally responsive, and focused on helping you build skills and create real, lasting change.

NOTE: I currently only have morning/midday availability at this time. (Mon-Thurs only) - - - - - I am deeply passionate about mental health, trauma work, and advocacy. With over a decade of experience in social work, I have had the privilege of supporting individuals across all age groups—from children as young as 3 to individuals preparing for and in their retirement years. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are, tailoring goals and methods to align with your unique needs and lead to the best possible outcomes for you. I began my journey in this field as a victim advocate, where I guided trauma and crime survivors through complex systems while also helping them begin to process the life-altering events they had experienced. My approach is rooted in building a strong, trusting rapport, but I also believe in being straightforward. I enjoy challenging my clients to confront and dismantle negative self-beliefs and cognitive distortions, empowering them to discover their inner resilience and potential. If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to work with you. Please visit my website to learn more and book a session.

I am a short-term therapist who works specifically with clients with chronic health conditions. Over the course of 20 sessions, we learn all about what is happening in your body and brain, learn and practice coping skills to manage anxiety related to your chronic medical condition, and have the option to complete hypnotherapy for chronic illness as well. If you are struggling with mental health related to a chronic health condition, and especially if you are experiencing high amounts of anxiety and low quality of life related to health symptoms, you will be a great fit for what I provide. If you have never done therapy before, or if you have found that your current therapist doesn’t quite “get it,” and you’re hoping to work with someone that has an intimate knowledge of chronic illness and hospital systems, then you will be a great fit. I also work alongside your full-time therapist if you have a therapist you love and would like to stay with while we complete our work together. I am also a good fit for someone who is specifically seeking out an LGBTQ therapist. I only offer virtual therapy at this time.

My style is direct, interactive, supportive and compassionate. I particularly enjoy working with older adolescents and adults who are experiencing difficult and challenging transitions in their lives. I have found that some people seek counseling for short term solutions, while others are seeking a longer, deeper, transformative experience. Some goals I have helped my patients achieve include: overcoming inhibitions about relationships or career, becoming better self-advocates, managing stressful life transitions, exercising more control over choices and actions, and mourning the loss of a loved one/significant relationship. I often use CBT, DBT, and ERP to help clients maximize functioning.

If you are struggling with emotional issues, stressful life experiences or feel a sense of disconnection, connecting with a therapist can help to alleviate your suffering. With me you will be able to explore difficult thoughts and feelings, challenge patterns and behaviors that might not be serving you or reflect on your relationships in a safe and supportive space. I care about the relationship I establish with my clients, am warm and compassionate and enjoy working collaboratively. My approach to counseling is holistic and grounded in the belief that our mind and body are one. Emotions live in the body as well as the brain. Along with traditional verbal psychotherapy I often integrate body-centered and creative arts therapy. My training allows me to use a variety of evidenced-based counseling theories to support your individual needs. I enjoy working with individuals to increase positive feelings such as self-esteem, feel more connected, learn strategies to handle difficult situations, build resilience, and become more self-aware to affect change and improve quality of life.
