Welcome y Bienvenido/a. Thank you for visiting my profile page. I strive to help clients get and stay better by thinking, acting and behaving in new ways. I use an integrated approach rooted in research and the evidence-based approach of Cognitive Behavioral Theory. Individuals come to me seeking help to resolve career or work challenges, work-life balance, family challenges and personal difficulties. As a therapist, I am always honored to be able to provide a compassionate and warm environment in which challenges can be made and change can be found. I am a bilingual in Spanish and English. I received a specialization in Health Psychology from William James College (formerly MSPP). I have over 10 years experience in an integrated health care setting. Prior, I worked in child welfare. I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield. I am also an out-of-network provider for most insurances. Reimbursement is often available through PPO plans. Bienvenido/a. Yo trabajo con adolescentes y adultos en inglés y español. Algunos clientes están enfrentando desafíos cotidianos y otros están bregando con asuntos del pasado. Como terapeuta es un placer proveer un ambiente compasivo y cálido donde puede cambiar.

You were sexually assaulted or experienced a disturbing sexual encounter. Now you feel jittery & anxious. Sometimes you have panic attacks. You can’t stop thinking about what happened and try really hard to avoid any reminders of it. You may feel really confused about how to label the experience and wonder if it was partly your fault. You have nightmares, trouble with intimacy, and are concerned you’re now permanently damaged or broken. It is possible to heal. You can feel relaxed again, get pleasure from intimacy, and feel good in your body. I am Rachel Stanton (she/her) and I use treatments like EMDR & Progressive Counting to help you process what happened in small, manageable chunks. These techniques are known for being more efficient and effective than regular talk therapy. Please go to my website CounselinginBoston.com to learn more about these techniques and the services I offer.

Natick, MA

I work with older teens and young adults who are typically struggling with more than one thing that leads to feeling really big emotions. A common co-occurrence is ADHD/Anxiety, but it could be any combination - mood disorder and autism, social anxiety and feeling angry all the time...having more than one thing at a time makes it more difficult to figure out what to do about those big emotions, which is where I come in. I help figure out what's going on, what are some tools that can help those emotions, and how you can start recognizing when that surge of emotion is coming before it becomes unmanageable.

Therapy enables us to heal ourselves and sharpen access to our wisest intuition. As your therapist, I will provide a comfortable space for self-reflection, where you will come to understand yourself at the deepest level. In our work together, you will learn to nurture yourself as you build inner strength and serenity. I’ve worked in community mental health, psychiatric hospitals, outpatient treatment centers, and private practice. Driven by curiosity, empathy, and integrity, my approach is built on the belief that every person is capable of growth. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling seen and understood, and to end therapy as your most authentic self. Though there is always darkness in life, I believe light can be found by those who want to see it. I am not afraid of the dark. Bring me your darkness—your pain, your confusion, your hurt—and we will walk together as you find your guiding lights.

I approach each client with a wide angle view–considering all the factors that contribute to a client’s presenting concerns. For those interested in traditional  psychotherapy, I draw from 20+ years of experience using a range of therapeutic interventions (psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, mindfulness focused) to offer individual and parent support services.  In recent years I have been expanding my expertise and services to include other holistic modalities, specifically biofield tuning, which has allowed options for using sound and energy focused work to address emotional issues. For interested clients, I weave together the benefits of psychotherapy with biofield tuning to create a unique healing experience.
