Hi! My name is Katie Kalina, a licensed independent clinician with over 6 years of experience. I believe that everyone deserves to be heard and healed, and that as your therapist, it's my job to meet you exactly where you're at. One of my specialties is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). This is a psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Eye movement (or other bilateral stimulation) is used to work on one memory at a time for the mind to heal. I have worked with individuals and groups of all ages, from children to teens and adults through anxiety, depression, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, body image issues, relationship issues, and anger management. As your therapist, I will make it my mission to make you feel at home in our sessions. Once we meet, I will help you set goals and devise a plan that will make you transform in the ways that you wish to. Looking forward to completing this journey with you and bringing you ongoing success. I am a clinical social worker with 12 years of experience working with a variety of mental health difficulties. Many of my clients experience anxiety and depression that stems from traumatic life events or difficult family dynamics. I will help you understand your symptoms and where they are stemming from. Once you understand yourself more, healing can occur. I will help you challenge your negative thoughts and build skills to cope with a stressful world.
We all face challenges. When you do, it's wise to consult with someone who listens well and can help you identify the problems, develop strategies, and guide and encourage you to implement them. I have been trained in psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral and systems-centered methods. I often draw upon wisdom, humor, and science to facilitate positive change. Whatever the challenge -- emotional, relational, or other -- we'll address it together.
I am licensed in MA and NH. Are you feeling anxious? overwhelmed? Have a past or recent trauma that is interfering with your everyday activities? Do you want relief of those symptoms so you can function as a productive person? Anxiety, Depression, and Trauma can take hold of your emotions and thoughts making it hard to get through each day without significant effort. I have strong empathy and compassion towards others, and strive to build on your strengths to guide you towards reaching your individual goals. I primarily use EMDR to help you through your painful life memories to ease your symptoms of anxiety/depression/PTSD, etc., so you can begin to feel like yourself again. I would describe my intervention style as strength based with a focus on building rapport/connection. Taking the first step can be difficult but if you're reading this, you have already taken the first step in regaining control of your life! If you would like support, please reach out to schedule an appointment. I look forward to working with you!

Hi, I help young adults manage their mental health medications via telehealth, and provide education about balancing medication use with a healthy lifestyle. Medication is not a quick-fix, or an all encompassing solution, but it can help! Unfortunately, because we are currently telehealth only, we are not prescribing stimulants (for ADHD treatment or narcolepsy) to new patients. We can continue existing prescriptions if patient has a PCP that they see yearly. Please contact me or sign up for a new patient appointment on my website if you feel that our practice might be right for you.

Your plate is more than full. You’re struggling with managing it all at once. Whether college, work, family, a declining family member or your own medical illness, things are hard. Life can feel overwhelming. You’re exhausted. You put other’s needs in front of your own. You keep pushing these feelings down and telling yourself “it’ll be okay” because you can’t take on JUST. ONE. MORE. THING. You may smile and say “I’m good thanks” when asked but know inside you’re not as good as you lead on. You deserve the time to slow down and be heard. It's hard to make the time for therapy, but your inner voice will thank you. You can come as you are without judgement. Cry, laugh, scream- do whatever you need to to let these feelings out so we can work on rebuilding you back up. It may not be easy, but you’ve already proven to yourself how strong you are by even considering asking for help. You are worth it. You deserve this. If any of this feels the least bit familiar, I encourage you to reach out to see if we would be a good fit for therapy together. As a working mom of two toddlers managing life’s craziness, I assure you that I will be authentic in every interaction we have because I get it. Life is hard, but I am here for you. I can’t wait to get started!
Our weight-obsessed culture chastises and shames you, as though your body size is not only a personal moral failing, but a reliable indicator of poor health. Over time, you started internalizing this anti-fat bias, and often treat yourself with the same level of contempt. You either avoid seeking medical care altogether, or expose yourself to the risk of weight stigma (far more harmful than any presumed adverse effect of your weight itself). You forgot how to nourish yourself – sometimes forbidding yourself food, sometimes isolating in shame for a binge, sometimes "paying" via purge. But friend, you are meant to bloom - not shrink. I know this may be difficult to believe right now, but you are already lovely, wise, and worthy of much more in life. I’ll hold that thought for you as you relearn it, and we use it as the foundation of our work. From there, we’ll integrate cognitive behavioral strategies with EMDR to gain insights from the present to heal your old wounds once and for all. You deserve to fully enjoy, nourish, and be at peace with your body. Learn to better understand your thoughts and emotions, and stop wasting energy on what others think. Explore the root causes of the shame you've been taught, and work to move past it – your deepest self longs to be known. Call me now for your free consultation, and let’s get started today!
