Are you having trouble managing the stress and demands of everyday life? Are you struggling to cope? Then, you are in the right place. At times, life can be difficult and challenging. Reaching out for help doesn’t have to be hard or scary. You don’t have to do this by yourself. Many times, the client’s I work with tell me, it is a good feeling to feel supported and not feel alone. We all want to be able to achieve our goals and feel calm and happy at the same time. This is where I come in. I graduated from Indiana University Northwest in 2001 with my MSW. I have been helping people ever since. I can help you sort out feelings, cope with demands and learn skills to help manage your changing world. I have experience with concerns related to ADHD, school issues, depression and anxiety. When I meet with client’s, I bring with me my experience, knowledge, training and ability to connect and understand others. It is my goal to assist the people I work with to find calm and happiness in their lives. I utilize an eclectic approach to assist the clients with a broad range of needs. We will begin from a strength based perspective utilizing aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person in Environment Theory, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. We will work towards achieving your goals in a way that feels safe and supported. If you are feeling the need for a bit more support and to cope better with life’s demands, give me a call. I would love to be able to discuss with you how I can help. I look forward to talking with you.

We all experience loss at varying levels of severity. This part of life is often left unexplored. Have you reached a point where your life experiences are leaving you feeling tangIed emotionally creating pain and confusion? Therapy with me will help you untangle your feelings so you can discover clarity and balance with the losses and joys of life. Your strengths will guide us on your path of discovery. My commitment to you is to provide therapy rooted in empathy, compassion, and non-judgment. We will create a safe and supportive environment together where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts and feelings in order to heal. My practice supports all humans with the vast spectrum of emotional wellness. You will find just having someone to listen to you as you share the experiences of your life will be healing. Then we process together how those experiences impact your thoughts and decisions and work to reduce the emotional response of those experiences so you feel in balance. I know the choice to seek therapy feels like a giant leap. I would encourage you to focus on this thought: to be vulnerable is the first agreement you must make with your self as you begin therapy. Once you agree to that, the rest will be a positive and life changing experience that will help you in so many ways!. You're not alone! I'm with you!

Welcome. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted by the weight of everything you’ve been carrying, I want you to know you don’t have to figure it all out alone. I believe that therapy is, first and foremost, a partnership built on warmth, safety, and mutual respect. Life can be incredibly complex, and our mental well-being is deeply connected to everything around us—our physical health, our personal histories, and the day-to-day pressures of the world we live in. My goal is to provide a soft landing place where you can step out of the chaos, catch your breath, and feel truly heard. As a counselor with a deep background in both mental health and clinical medicine, I look at the whole picture of who you are. Together, we will gently explore what is holding you back, honor your lived experience, and collaborate on a practical, supportive path forward at a pace that feels safe and right for you. My Specialties Healing Trauma & Stress: Gently working together to soothe your nervous system, process old wounds, and bring a sense of safety back to your daily life. Navigating Life & Career Transitions: Providing a steady, encouraging anchor when you are managing major life shifts, educational pursuits, or redefining your personal goals. Financial & Socioeconomic Stress: Offering a compassionate, zero-judgment space to talk about the very real anxiety, stress, and burdens that financial and systemic pressures place on our minds and families. Integrative, Whole-Person Wellness: Honoring the profound connection between your mind and body, ensuring your physical well-being is supported alongside your emotional health. My Approach My therapeutic style is warm, interactive, and deeply collaborative. I am not a passive therapist who just sits and nods; I am right there in the trenches with you, listening with an open heart and a curious mind. Because everyone processes things differently, I love using creative, visual, and practical tools to help us map out patterns and make sense of heavy emotions together. There is no judgment here—only a shared commitment to your growth, your peace of mind, and your personal autonomy. Who I Work Best With I welcome adults from all walks of life who are looking for a deeply empathetic, down-to-earth ally. Whether you are navigating a demanding career, feeling crushed by the weight of systemic barriers, or simply trying to find your footing during a time of immense change, I am here to support you. If you are looking for a space where you can be completely, authentically yourself while working toward a more peaceful, resilient life, we will likely be a wonderful fit.

I've worked with families and individuals for over 12 years. My practice focuses primarily on anxiety disorders, grief/loss, life transitions, ADHD and OCD and combinations of those disorders (ADHD +Anxiety or ADHD +OCD). I also treat Body Dysmorphic Disorder and Trichotillomania (and other BFRBs). You may not be sure of how to "label" your experiences in terms of a diagnosis, but I can help you if you are feeling overwhelmed, having intrusive or unwanted anxious or negative thoughts, worry, fear, self-doubt, perfectionism or are are struggling in school or in personal relationships. I weave Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Mindful Self-Compassion throughout all of my sessions because I find that these methods provide a strong foundation for change. From there I select evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ERP, Written Exposure Therapy, motivational interviewing and various forms of body-based and expressive therapy techniques (written and visual) to address specific issues. My clients appreciate that I am compassionate, have a good sense of humor and I am down to earth.

Healing and Growth Counseling, PLLC (Kate Tower, LCSW)
Clinical Social Work/Therapist
Clarksville, TN

Hello! My name is Kate, and I've been a therapist for 15 years, and a virtual therapist for 3 years. I have a Masters in Social Work and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. I love working with people of all ages, and enjoy addressing a diverse array of issues that impair us from being our best selves. In addition to myself, I work with 4 co-therapists; 3 dogs and a cat! They occassionally make brief appearances during sessions to provide their insight. I generally approach therapy as an equal meeting of you, as the expert on yourself, and me, as someone who can give some qualified insight and ask good questions to guide you to your own answers. I tend to be warm and engaging, and I pull the most from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), although I also use certain tools from other modalities, as well. In our sessions, we will work together to target the areas in which you would like to grow, give you the tools you need in order to produce the desired growth, and tackle sticking points and struggles as you work on applying what we discuss in therapy. I generally will give "homework" between sessions to help you continue to think about and apply what we are working on in your daily life, but it's nothing intense, I promise! Most clients find the "homework" really helpful and even fun, sometimes.
