“I have learned now that while those who speak about one’s miseries usually hurt, those who keep silence hurt more.” - Clive Staples Lewis Beginning the process of therapy can be intimidating, overwhelming, and scary. I completely understand and have been where you are. Sitting in silence only prolongs the inevitable. Trying to resolve the problem with the help of a friend or loved one eases the burden temporarily but you may not get to the core. Working with a trusted therapist, you begin to understand your deeper thought processes, the ineffective loops you’re likely stuck in, and the fear-based thoughts holding you back. I help people struggling with stress, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relational conflicts. I begin where you stand now. I move slowly, gently, and respectfully towards the goals we create together. My therapeutic approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for trauma, and Systemic Family Therapy. Some of my past experiences include working with individuals and couples in several private practice locations over the years, an inpatient drug/alcohol addiction treatment center, and at a U.S. Air Force base helping military members and their families. I also worked as a mental health counselor in a close-security prison for 3 ½ years helping male inmates struggling with mental health issues. A few fun facts about me: I spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and have lived in multiple countries and states. I've been married to my beautiful bride for over 20 years and we are empty nesters (if you don't count our 4 pets)!
You have a story to tell. A story about you. It is a story full of hope, joy, confusion, and at times pain. Right now, you may be in that experience of confusion or pain, and feel unsure of how to make good decisions, or any decision at all. I would be honored to hear that story and journey with you as you seek to put new puzzle pieces together to find peace and clarity. All my clients (individual and couple) will come to understand their behavioral responses caused by our internal experiences of pain, what we refer to as our pain cycle. We will then map out new opportunities for personal responsibility and predictability, referred to as our peace cycle, and seek together how to practice and strengthen making decisions within our peace cycle instead of making decisions while coping with our pain cycle.
Hi! I’m Jen (she/her) and I’m not perfect. It took me a long time to be able to say and accept that. In fact, I now embrace the things that are imperfect - all my difficulties and challenges. I have navigated these throughout my life and seek to help others navigate their difficulties and challenges, as well. My therapy style has been described as informal, direct, genuine, and humorous. I am fully authentic with my clients and I hope my clients will be fully authentic with me. I tend to be blunt and call people out on their BS - I say what you can’t or won’t and teach you to do that for yourself. Together, we will address your difficulties by connecting current thoughts, beliefs, and emotions to past experiences. We can’t fix the past, but we can change how we view it and move forward.
Struggling with difficult obstacles, past or present, can affect multiple areas of your life. You may have gone to therapy before and are ready for an approach that is more actionable or you feel curious to see what therapy can do for you. I would love the opportunity to be a partner in the journey ahead. My focus is helping people learn skills they can practice or process difficult emotions in order to better manage mood, cope with trauma or navigate life transitions. I look forward to chatting with you.
It can be difficult to find your way amidst uncertainty. It can be easy to become overwhelmed and feel powerless and even hopeless, to lose a sense of purpose and enjoyment. Sometimes you need someone to help you sort these things out and get to the root of a problem so that you can grow beyond it. If I can help you achieve that in any way, then I have succeeded. My primary client focus at this time is young adults in college or trade school, professional women, working moms, and peripartum women.

Hi I'm Kate. It's nice to meet you, even if it's here on a website page. For many of us, we come to a point in our lives where we feel stuck. You might be at this point right now. You've tried everything you can think of to shift things, but nothing seems to be working. The gap between where you want to be and where you actually are is painful. In my practice, we explore these issues and stuck spots in a safe and nonjudgemental space. Together we experiment with new ways to open up, express, listen, and engage in order to bring about new understandings, deeper connections and most of all healing. The overall goal is to start Living Better, Feeling Better and Moving Forward. I may or may not be the right fit for you. I know it can be overwhelming to find a therapist. Reach out, if I am not the right fit, I will help you find someone who is. Hang in there. You are on the right track.
Hello, I am a licensed counselor that provides telehelath services throughout Indiana. I work with many college students at various universities from interpersonal skills and roommate issues to psychosis, anxiety, and trauma. Let's figure out ways to set some goals to improve your overall well-being this year.
I've worked with families and individuals for over 12 years. My practice focuses primarily on anxiety disorders, grief/loss, life transitions, ADHD and OCD and combinations of those disorders (ADHD +Anxiety or ADHD +OCD). I also treat Body Dysmorphic Disorder and Trichotillomania (and other BFRBs). You may not be sure of how to "label" your experiences in terms of a diagnosis, but I can help you if you are feeling overwhelmed, having intrusive or unwanted anxious or negative thoughts, worry, fear, self-doubt, perfectionism or are are struggling in school or in personal relationships. I weave Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and Mindful Self-Compassion throughout all of my sessions because I find that these methods provide a strong foundation for change. From there I select evidence-based modalities such as CBT, ERP, Written Exposure Therapy, motivational interviewing and various forms of body-based and expressive therapy techniques (written and visual) to address specific issues. My clients appreciate that I am compassionate, have a good sense of humor and I am down to earth.
