I get it. College can be a lot—new freedom, big decisions, messy relationships, and figuring out who you really are. I’m Jessie, a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, and I help students navigate all the chaos that comes with life, school and everything in between. I work with clients using a warm, direct approach with a dash of humor along the way. Some common topics I work with include: stress management, identity, relationships, self-esteem, sexual development, career / academic roadblocks, communication challenges, inner conflict, anxiety, pressure to succeed, life transitions.
Warm welcome! Are you feeling unmotivated, sad, or overwhelmed by life changes? Perhaps past traumatic experiences are triggering you, making it hard to show up as your authentic self in relationships, school, work, or hobbies. If you identify with any of these feelings, know that it’s common to struggle with your vitality, creativity, and energy. I empathize with your journey and want you to know that it’s okay to seek support and guidance to reconnect with your true self. With 6 years of experience, I offer support for anxiety, depression, PTSD, codependency, low self-esteem, anger, childhood neglect, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and acculturation as first-gen. My clients experience growth by learning to regulate their emotions, confidently express their needs, and establish value-oriented actions to reach their goals. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, non-judgmental environment with direct communication. My goal is to help you challenge self-limiting beliefs and overcome internal blockages to become your best version. If you’re ready to take the next step in your journey, I’m here to support you. Therapy offers a confidential place of refuge where you can be seen and heard. Together we will explore how daily external pressures and feelings of self-blame, self-criticism, fear or sadness, as well as loss and past trauma, may be affecting your ability to move forward or express yourself in an authentic way. By devoting time and attention to understanding your unique story and the ways in which past relationships shape current ones, you can gain greater self-awareness and an understanding of how underlying feelings and thoughts are affecting your mood. In building a strong, supportive relationship I will help you uncover core issues. I primarily use a psychodynamic, creative approach to guide my clients towards greater self-compassion and clarity that will allow you to feel more confident in your ability to change and heal.

College can be a time of deep change and self-discovery, but it can also feel overwhelming, isolating, or uncertain. You might be navigating anxiety, grief, family challenges, creative blocks, or a sense of being stuck. Maybe you feel disconnected from yourself or unsure of your path. If you’re carrying a lot but don’t know where to put it, therapy can be a place to set things down, breathe, and figure out what comes next. I specialize in working with students who are introspective, creative, and thoughtful—those who feel things deeply and want to make sense of their experiences. Whether you’re struggling with self-doubt, life transitions, perfectionism, or the weight of unspoken emotions, I offer a space to explore, heal, and reconnect with your inner wisdom. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. Together, we work at your pace, uncovering patterns that no longer serve you and finding ways to move forward with clarity and self-trust. Our work may include mindfulness, creative expression, or simply meaningful conversations that help you feel more grounded.
People I work with often are starting out in therapy or interested in moving towards trauma work. If you're interested in learning how to slow it down, use mindfulness, or feel more connected to your body, I utilize narrative and somatic techniques to help people reclaim their peace, energy, and rest. As an Asian-Mexican-American psychotherapist, I enjoy helping people learn more about connecting to ancestry, spirituality, community healing and peer support resources that remind us we are all connected. When I'm not doing therapy I love going to the beach, writing, camping/hiking/backpacking, and traveling.
