Welcome! I'm Olivea (oh-liv-ee-uh). I'm a graduate of The Wright Institute's Graduate School of Counseling Psychology, working as an associate therapist in San Ramon, CA. I love seeing my clients in-person but also offer telehealth for those who aren't local or can't make it in-person. My general approach to therapy is lower-key, compassionate (heavy on the checking the self-critic), direct and casual. I work to create a space that feels validating, accepting, and easy to walk into, even when everything feels like it's too much. I primarily work with young adults and teens navigating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, identity questions (gender, sexuality, race), and political stress. I also have a soft spot for anyone experiencing long-distance relationship struggles as well as fellow nerds and gamers, and anyone who feels chronically online (no judgment—same). I often see folks for individual therapy who are dealing with: - Life transitions that feel overwhelming - Difficulty finding their voices in their families or relationships - Feeling lonely or isolated - Relationship issues and attachment patterns - Boundaries and stress management - Racial stress and identity development - Gender and sexual identity exploration I believe you're the expert on your own life, and that a strong, collaborative relationship between us is what makes therapy actually work. My approach is grounded in that belief—I utilize strengths-based, person-centered frameworks, and I operate from a social justice lens. Basically: I see you as a whole person shaped by your experiences and the systems around you, and I'm here to help you figure out what you need and want, not tell you what to do. I'm currently an AMFT (Associate Marriage and Family Therapist) under the supervision of Michelle Ritenour (#51357). If you feel like we might be a good fit, please feel encouraged to contact me by phone, email, or through my website.

I am inspired to work in the field of mental health because I want to offer support and strategies during a challenging time. I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for help. I want to work with you to improve your circumstances. I work on being nonjudgmental so that you feel comfortable and safe enough to share your experiences with me. I welcome feedback so I can continue to offer more of what might be needed so that I can best support you. I want to meet you where you are at and pace our work together. I respect all parts of your experience and want to make sure that you feel empowered to speak up if you ever feel worried about your care.

I became a therapist because I deeply believe in the power of healing, growth and change. Through my own experiences, I have come to understand the value and profound impact that compassionate support and a safe, nonjudgmental space can have on someone’s well-being. I knew I wanted to provide that for others—whether it’s through offering guidance, a listening ear, or the tools needed to overcome difficult moments. My approach to therapy is rooted in deep empathy, active listening, and respect for your unique experience. I am here to truly hear you—without judgment, without rushing to solutions. I believe in meeting you where you are, and I will always create a safe, open space where you feel comfortable expressing your thoughts and feelings. At the same time, part of feeling truly understood sometimes means gently challenging patterns or thoughts that may not be serving you or guiding you to the life you want to live. It’s my belief that this balance of listening deeply and challenging constructively is key to creating lasting change. Working together will be a collaborative partnership. I will be here to offer support and understanding, but also challenge you in ways that help you move forward. It’s a journey of mutual respect, trust, and deep care, and I’m committed to patiently walking alongside you through every step.

As an experienced mental health professional, I know how to listen to your unique story and how to help you disentangle from the symptoms that are holding you back. Using intuitive listening skills and coming from a place of deep empathy, I will work with you, teaching you how to integrate new thinking and being skills into your life. My work is collaborative, conversational and client-centered. Your goals are my goals, and understanding the values beneath those goals often drives my curiosity. Sometimes it can feel like different parts of us want different things or are even in conflict with each other. Understanding how to negotiate with these different parts - and to honor how and why they came to be - can help us find the agency to live lives of integrity, freedom, meaning, and connection.

Sometimes it's really hard for us to ask for help-especially when you're a strong, independent woman. Therapy is a great way to reach out, learn more about yourself, and grow through any challenges you might be facing. I help women who want to change their relationship with food and their bodies. I work with women in individual, group, & virtual therapy. I have a holistic approach that covers a wide range of symptoms & issues, but I enjoy helping clients who have struggled with their weight make peace with food. I love working with college women who are graduating & seeking support for the transition, and specialize in those women experiencing a "quarter life crisis". I also have a lot of experience helping women with recovering from sexual trauma. I love working with women who may have experienced an unplanned pregnancy or abortion as well, and offer an non-judgemental, pro-choice arena to explore emotions. Starting therapy can seem scary, but its brave to get some help! Make the decision to feel better today. I am an Out of Network insurance provider-contact your insurance to see if you qualify for these benefits. Flexible spending and HSA accepted as payment. This is a safe, nonjudgmental space. What is it that you need to feel heard and understood? I do not come from an expert stance. I am a dedicated and compassionate, board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). The majority of my nursing career has been in high-acuity psychiatric settings, including psychiatric emergency, crisis stabilization, and inpatient behavioral health. I initially started in the Emergency Department as a new graduate nurse, where I realized that what truly resonated with me was the mental health aspect of patient care. Throughout my psychiatric nursing career, I’ve worked with diverse populations from pediatrics to geriatrics, managing complex psychiatric and co-occurring disorders, emergency crisis situations, and facilitating stabilization through comprehensive and therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient’s unique needs. What inspires me to work in mental health is the resilience of the people I’ve cared for, many of whom have faced immense stigma, systemic barriers, or trauma. I’ve seen how transformative it can be when someone feels genuinely heard and respected, especially those from marginalized backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ individuals, people of color, foster youth, immigrants, and those struggling with disabilities or homelessness. Mental health is the foundation to overall health and quality of life. The ability to support someone in their most vulnerable moments and witness their transformation is what continually inspires my commitment to this field. My approach is person-centered, intentional, non-coercive, and collaborative care. I strive to meet each patient exactly where they are, emotionally, culturally, and developmentally, and aim to prioritize their autonomy. I offer compassionate, evidence-based guidance, especially in medication management, to ensure that each treatment plan aligns with the patient’s values, readiness, and recovery goals. My goal is to support patients in building lives that are not just symptom-free, but fulfilling, meaningful, and self-directed.

As a therapist with both a personal and professional understanding of trauma, military service, and the LGBTQIA+ community, I’m well aware of the strength required to overcome hardships. That’s why I’m so inspired by my clients’ resilience and their commitment to healing. It’s an honor to stand beside them as they face the tough work of processing adversity, healing trauma and practicing a new way to fight through life’s challenges. I approach therapy with a no-nonsense, trauma-informed, and inclusive mindset. My goal is to create a space where clients feel safe, but also pushed to dig deep and face their realities. I listen closely to their stories, and together, we confront the hard truths. We reshape self-narratives, understanding that the way we speak and think about ourselves, others and the world shapes the way we live. I believe trust in the therapeutic relationship is built through respect. There is no hierarchy in therapy, but rather two people working together for change. I believe in giving clients the space to lead, while collaborating with them to confront patterns and beliefs that no longer serve them. My hope is that every client takes ownership and control over their own healing, with each step being a move toward real, lasting growth.
