Yara Akkeh
Hi, and welcome! If you’ve realized that something in your life has been tough or that you need some support, you’re in the right place. I know that life’s challenges can be incredible difficult, especially when a history of trauma impacts your ability to cope. In therapy, I see each client as a whole person to understand how your environment affects your well-being. I use a strengths-based and culturally sensitive lens combined with warmth, humor, and directness to build trust, which becomes a foundation to collaboratively navigate challenging or traumatic memories, build coping skills, and make positive changes in your life.
I have worked with preteens, adolescents, and adults dealing with complex trauma, PTSD, burnout, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and eating disorders in both outpatient and partial hospitalization settings. I have experience with multiple evidence-based modalities, and use various aspects of these modalities to individualize treatment for each unique person.
Trusting someone to join you in your healing process is incredibly courageous, and I am grateful for every opportunity I have to support each client on their journey. I take pride in helping clients feel empowered and in control, both in and out of therapy. If you would like to work together, please send me an email or set up a free phone consultation!
